Halloween Begins

Wow !!!

Just a quick note:  I was reading some of the online advice to starting up an e-zine for us. This is really going to take a lot of work!!  Also plenty of money like in the three zero to four zero range. I don't know if I really want to do this because I can't afford it.

Plus I'll have to pay everyone to write stuff for it, buy art work, buy a domain name and buy space online to publish it. Not to mention Legal Eagles and Designers to help with the hard stuff.
I want to do it but at what cost? I'll have to talk this over with David and see what he says first before I take on this venture.

Don't worry ... the idea isn't dead yet.
Anyone know CPR???  Haahahahahaa!!

I know a Christian magazine run by teenagers. They made a website about what the magazine was about and had a mailing list where readers received a PDF magazine by e-mail. The magazine founders picked a staff-- someone in charge of submissions, an editor, people in charge of photos.

While I understand that our time and effort deserve payment, there may be writers willing to "donate" their time once or twice a year just to have a magazine that they like.

I was thinking really hard about asking for help. I'm not too sure how to go about this mag thing.

I still think this is a great idea, one I would want to be on board with. People would donate time, surely.

People would be willing to donate their writing time and artwork to start off the magazine because of their love of the Craft. You can ask in the comment field how many people would be willing to donate their fiction or non-fiction. The downside, of course, is until there is payment, people will donate whenever they please -- and their schedule may not match your schedule.

You may wish to think about advertisements to help offset the costs.

On another note, I've seen ezines that looked like bloggerspot.com with links and pages thrown in. It's hard to believe they put a nickle into the sites, and I suspect the writers published the stories for promo purposes -- in other words, they did it to get their names out there.

And I'm a follower of your blog, too.

I just reiterate what they have been saying. There are a lot of online magagzines that work solely off of donated writing and art work. In the pagan community there is always a lot of folks that have the talent, so just let us all know what we can do to help and we will!
