Insomniacs R Us

Insomnia is kicking my ass again. I need to figure out why I can't get any sleep at night.
I've tried everything in the book and then some. Nothing seems to work.

So I've been doing house work in the hopes that it would make me tired enough to get some sleep.

But I have just too much energy flowing through me. It's like I tapped into some kind of energy field and I can't stop buzzing.

I did three loads of laundry last night. I dusted, swept (vacuuming is too loud and I don't want to wake David because he has to work), mopped, cleaned the bathroom, found long lost dog toys that Lucy hid from Spunky, cleaned the refrigerator, and even baked four dozen cookies I had from the freezer that I made up two weeks ago. Shit! I even made a loaf of sour dough bread.
Then I decided to do some cooking for part of the week.  I made potato salad, meat balls for spaghetti, and even some fried chicken.
David woke up at 5am this morning to a clean house and some fine smells from the kitchen.
I accomplished a lot of things last night and I feel great from it. But doing all that shit never made me tired. I still feel energetic right now. So I guess I'll go outside an pull weeds and transplant some creeping phlox and sweet peas.
Please don't worry about me. I'll hit that wall soon enough. It's been three nights without sleep so I'm guessing tonight I'll finally get some sound sleep, Goddess willing.
Y'all have a magical day.

I swear, I am part sloth. I've never, ever, had that kind of energy. Not naturally anyway. Then again, I've never had to battle insomnia.
Sweet dreams.

I did this during my early thirties. I don't know where the energy came from but somehow I could wallpaper the kitchen or paint a room all night and then head to the garden or go shopping with girlfriends the next day. Then (41 or so) I got premenopausal and I would go to sleep around 1130pm, wake up during the night and lay there worrying for hours about not getting enough sleep. Maybe humans are a little more complicated than 8 hours of sleep every night.??? Take care. Sleep when you feel like sleeping. How was the bread?

My psychiatrist told me that Spring is the worst time for Bipolar patients. (I think this applies to everyone, but Bipolar people are much more sensitive). Just like Winter can exacerbate Depression, Spring can exacerbate Mania. I have and am experiencing massive energy flows right now but my meds are doing their job and I'm not doing what I do when I'm manic (thank you sweet baby cheezus). Hopefully you will be able to get some sleep. If not, I haven't started my Spring Cleaning yet so come on over and wash some cabinets and curtains.
