MY MINIONS

Halloween Begins

It's Monday

I'm back to normal, whatever that is. Anywho, I'm full of piss and vinegar. I didn't get a wink of sleep and it's now 2:24 AM. So I decided to do some reading but I couldn't concentrate. Now I'm writing and I hope I can concentrate long enough to get this done.

While I was fooling around on the web this weekend, I noticed that I passed the 1000 mark on blog posts. I've been doing this shit for almost 4 years and I never thought I'd get this far. I figured this blog would last only a year or two and I would get bored with it and move on to something else. It's amazing what this blog has lead to. I've made so many friends from all over the world. I've learned some cool things and I'm still learning. It's just blowing my mind. Maybe not.

Okay, back to other stuff. I finally got David to clean the courtyard. Since I've been in the hospital off and on for the past three years, David just did minor stuff like mowing the lawn and watering it. He would also clean the house, do laundry, and take care of the puppies. So, three years of dead autumn leaves from the neighbor's trees and other stuff got cleaned out, picked up, and washed out. It's sooooo nice to see a clean courtyard now.

David ordered an Adirondack chair a week ago from one of my many catalogs. It was under $200, that's cheap for an Adirondack. But it looks to be good quality. He put it together and then sat in it and it didn't break or creak. He's about 280 lbs. so I was worried. It's very comfy for a wooden chair. I'm going to go to Michael's next week and get some material and batting and make some nice cushions for it. He has already ordered another chair to match it. Now if I could just get him to build a nice little ol' fire pit to sit around on cool autumn and spring nights. *sigh*

That is so nice. We have been de-cluttering for the past 3 months and finally i feel i can breath. You know the drawer full of stuff that every house has one. We had about a million. If this was a thing in Greece we could have yard sales for a year. Our inability to clean a little bit was borderline hoarding!

Over 1,000?!? Wow. Well done. I don't think I'm at even half that.
I had to look up both what an Adirondack chair is and what "batting" is. So, I learned something from this, thank you for that.

isn't blogging strange? i can't even remember why i started and i never gave it any thought but here i am, 6 1/2 year later still doing it! i think adirondack chairs are some of the most comfortable garden chairs there are. especially with lumbar pillows!

So happy to hear about the Adirondack chair, they have to be the MOST comfortable chairs on the planet, at least for out doors use. And I'll whisper to the wind that you'd like a fire pit...

My sister has this kind of fire pit and loves it. She rents and needed something portable.

Four years and holding strong (and funny!). I hope you share picture of your chair and your clean yard. And eventually of your firepit. I know your hubby will build it... give him some time. ;-)
