I used to drive through the Blackbonnet Gauntlet exactly like this

    1. The trouble is they don't realize the problem with that idea until they try it. Stupid headstrong men in our Capital running the show and don't consider the pros and cons per the people.

    1. David is a wussy and wears them when he drives. I can handle the heat. I'm from El Paso where it's a dry heat and can boil water on the dash of your car.

  3. 🤨 Be fair, Leanna. If it weren't for speeding outsiders, these towns would have no city budget at all!! 😉🤣

    1. So true. Last time I drove to El Paso it took me 8 hours. I had to slow down to 75 near Junction and again in Ft Stockton. Otherwise I put my low level flying license to good use. David was nervous the whole time.

  4. Absolutely, I hadn't had a speeding ticket for 30 years until I moved to a small town in Texas; then, I got two. Also, I didn''t move here of my own free will - not my cup of tea. How did the state of LBJ and Ann Richards end up with a nutcase like Abbott?

    1. I know what you mean. I miss Gov. Ann Richards sooooo much. We need a no nonsense woman back at the helm. Sandra, what part of Texas? I live in Seguin.

  5. I live in Lindale. I have never lived in a small town before. Born in Minnesota and lived in California for 30 years. The two most progressive states in the country - and now this.

    1. OMG! That's east of Dallas. The reddest part of Texas. My condolences, babygirl.

  6. Ha Ha, the oven mitts. I might suggest that next summer to my one daughter who drives, the rest of us ride buses.
