In graduate courses in Human Communications (my M.A.), we had many discussions about spelling and grammar and usage. If you understand the message, does anything else really matter? In the abstract, no...be a good little academic philosopher! In reality, AUGH!...it drives me insane and I wanna red-pencil everything!! 🤪
