  1. ๐Ÿคจ๐ŸŽ Knowledge turned out to be a double-edged apple, if you ask me. Eve got some smarts, but she stayed with Adam. Then she had kids with him. Then her kids started killing each other. Then things got a little complicated! ๐Ÿคฃ

    1. It gets particularly complicated when you start thinking about where the next generation after Cain would have come from, with Eve (and perhaps some sister(s) of Cain that the Bible didn't bother to mention) being the only women in existence.

  2. It is characteristic of tyrants that they try to keep their subjects ignorant, and claim it's for their own good. Liberation comes from disobedience and, as you say, choosing knowledge.

It has also been argued that the serpent is the Prometheus figure of the story. That is, Satan is the true liberator.
