I was playing around in Youtube yesterday and I came across this musician. His name is Luca Stricagnoli, born and raised in Italy. He has unique acoustic guitar skills that are awesome. Give a listen and if you want to hear more check out his Youtube channel. He also has a CD out called "What If".

It's Tuesday

I just got back from the hospital. I had to get x-rays of my knee before I go to see my ortho surgeon tomorrow afternoon. Since I didn't have an appointment I had to wait a long long time. I was there for almost 2 hours. I'm hoping I don't have to have this knee replaced. When I took that flying slip in the kitchen in April something popped and I have a sinking feeling it was mechanical in nature. My knee keeps bending and locking in a backward bend if I straighten my leg without my brace. Also, I have trouble walking sometimes. Yes, there is also pain now and then.
OY!!! We got rain yesterday. Yes! Not more than 20 minutes after posting it started rolling into our area and that fucker rained down on us. It lasted 2 whole hours but it was a fandamtastic soaker. I opened the doors to let in the freshness of it. Lucy hid the whole time because she thinks with rain comes the thunder but the rain was so wonderful that all the kids in the neighborhood were dancing and playing in it. You could hear their laughter. I didn't mind the pain for once. I sat outside and watched them play. I believe that is all the rain we will be getting for a long while. It's summer and it's part of our dry season.

It's Monday - Peace and Quiet Again

Absolute quiet. Yes. Quiet. All I can hear is the occasional car passing by. David is at work so that means the TV is off. The puppies are taking their mid-morning nap. I can actually hear the kitchen clock ticking from the living room. I have the AC on 80 this morning so that means it bearly turns on at all. So I'm just sitting here enjoying this quiet time.
David accused me of money laundering yesterday. I was washing his jeans and when I went to pull them all out of the washer to the dryer there were several dollar bills in there. Usually, he empties his pockets so I don't bother doing it. I found $4 this time and I wanted to keep it but gave it back. I felt sorry for him being so poor.
Spunky and his soccer ball
Contrary to what I said a while back about our weather, we didn't get any rain over the weekend and don't expect any more for a long while. Although I did take advantage of the 80-degree temperatures. It was a beautiful weekend. The puppies enjoyed it too because they were able to stay outside and have some fun. I lowered the tetherball from the tree and let them play with it. Well, Lucy played while Spunky wandered around and barked. They were quite tired after their time outside. I just wish autumn would get here sooner so they could stay out most of the day with me and enjoy the fresh air.

Adventures in Plumbing

David finally finished one of the items I had on the list. Believe it or not, he actually started yesterday at 2 pm. One of the items on the list was to fix the leak in the sprayer hose on the kitchen sink. Yeah, sadly, I gave him a plumbing job. Now, if any of y'all know me and have read my blog, David don't do plumbing unless it's the toilet. For some reason playing around with the toilet is easy peezy for him. He knows all about how that sucker works and how to fix it. If you give him a kitchen sink to play with, now, that's opening up a can of whoop ass.
Well, as I said, this started yesterday. Of all times to start tinkering with water, he decided to start late in the day. First off, he went to his favorite toy store, Home Desperate. He bought a whole new hose sprayer for the sink, he set up two old pillows to lie on under the sink and proceeded to try to take the sprayer hose off of the faucet from underneath. After about 20 minutes of grunting and flashy he-man strength, the sprayer refused to budge and his arms were getting tired from holding them up at that angle. Now, me being me, I would have taken the whole faucet thingy off the sink and dealt with it up top where I could see what all I'm dealing with instead of tiring my arms out but he didn't want to take the whole faucet thingy off he wanted to just take the sprayer hose off and reconnect a new one like slicing through butter. Yeah, it didn't happen like that. I asked him if he wanted the plumbers to come and do the job. He yelled that if I call them it's the divorce for me. So, I left him to his own devices and I went to read up on how to change the sprayer on the sink faucet. One thing I found out, you can't change it out on the brand faucet that we had and since he yelled at me for being a wise-ass, I just let him continue to grunt and cuss and grunt some more and find out all that fun stuff for himself.
About two trips to the toy store later, success! He got the sprayer hose off the faucet thingy, only thing was it doesn't have threads so you cant screw another sprayer onto it. Another trip to the toy store, he bought a whole new sink faucet with sprayer. Same brand too. This was at 5 pm. Dinner was shot to hell. He preceded to hook the thing up. Okay, everything is going well except the hose from the water lines don't match the new faucet links. Water was leaking everywhere. He turned the water off and said he would tackle the critter tomorrow. He was a tired broken man at that point.
This morning I woke up and he was gone. the kitchen light was on, the pillows were set under the sink, tools laying everywhere but no David. I let the puppies out just in time to see him coming back from his toy store once again with 2 brand new water line hoses for under the sink. He just scowled at me and I smiled. He finally got the whole thing hooked up and running. He put everything back under the sink and cleaned up his mess. He called me in to inspect his job finally well done. I did. I just smiled and crossed my arms then I asked him if he was going to tackle the other 2 jobs on the list and try not to make it a 2-day ordeal. He's watching TV right now. I'm waiting.
Calm down Satan!

It's Thursday Deal With It

I hate fireworks. Sure they're fun and all but I hate having to calm Lucy down all night long. I tried playing with her and holding her and you name it. She was shaking so bad last night that I think I vacuumed up enough puppy hair from the carpets this morning to make another dog. She's sleeping now right next to me as close as she can plant herself. Poor baby girl. No matter what I try she will never get used to the sound of thunder or firecrackers.
We had a glorious thunderstorm blow through here last evening. It cooled us down so well that I opened the front door to let in the cool air. The temperature went from 93 down to 75 in less than 7 minutes. We only got 3/4 of an inch of rain but it was a nice rain. It lasted all evening and into the night for us. We are expecting rain on and off all the way up until Tuesday next week. David is waiting for the weekend I guess to finish the list even though I'm constantly hounding him. He says, "but what if it rains?" That is his excuse and he's sticking to it.
