It's Tuesday

I listened, Ellen. I went back to bed and stayed there all day yesterday. I'm feeling a little better today although I might go back to bed later. I have to get a few things done today like a load of laundry and clean the kitchen which I have done as of now. The puppies have gone out and they are back inside. I watered the courtyard plants because the rain we were supposed to get never came.  David said we might be having another drought year although we are still in the rain years. I sure hope he's wrong. Texas can't afford to go back into a drought.
I got bored with Netflix and now I'm watching Prime. One series is Hunters with Al Pacino. It's violent as hell but it's good. It's about a band of Nazi hunters during 1977. Some of it is true most of it not. But dayum it's addicting as hell.
Yesterday, Lucy spent the day sitting at the bottom of the bed. I know for a fact she was worried because the bed was vibrating. She was shaking as she sat on the bed watching me. She refused to lay down next to me. It was like she was worried that I was in bed when I'm usually working around the house. Poor thing. She looked so forlorn so scared. I had to get up and lay her down next to me in order for her to stop all that shaking. I think she finally did by the time I fell asleep. David said that when he came home for lunch she was sitting by the bedroom door shaking so hard that her fur could have fallen off of her. I have no idea why she got up after I consoled her earlier. She's been like this every day since my accident in the kitchen a year and a half ago. I guess I scared her so bad back then. Really, I wish I could stop her from all that worrying.
Okay, I'm rambling on and on. I need to go move some towels into the dryer. It's much too humid to hang anything outside and besides, the sun might not show today. I have shit to do so y'all have a magical day.

It's Monday Dammit

Hey, y'all. I'm moving slowly this morning. I just got back from having blood drawn for labs. I had to get David to take time off to drive me there and back. I see my family doctor on Thursday. Not looking forward to it. I'm hoping I'll feel better by then.
Today is overcast and it's drizzling. I would be happy about that but I am feeling like another Lupus tirade is coming. I'm showing all the signs that I go through before Lupus hits me up for a few days. Overwhelming tired feeling, minor body aches, having trouble thinking and seeing. I just want to go back to bed right now but I'm going to fight it and finish this.
Thank the Goddess I have Grammarly otherwise this would all look like a foreign language to y'all. My brain isn't cooperating today. It keeps saying that the bed would make me feel so much better. I'm really fighting it hard. Lucy isn't cooperating either. She keeps trying to stop me from blogging by sitting on the keyboard and getting in my face so I can't see. So, I let her outside for a little while. I just noticed there are no birds singing out there. It's dead quiet. strange. I always hear birds singing even in a drizzle. It's like 67 degrees out there but it feels like 75 with the humidity. It's quite nice sitting on the front porch. We are having spring break so all the kids are off from school. But you wouldn't know it with it being quiet.
Lupus aches and pains are winning. I'm going to take my heating pads and go lie down for a while. Y'all have a magical day.

It's That Time Again

Just to let some of you know Daylight Saving Time starts March 8th. Don't forget we jump ahead one hour.
Just a quick note.
David had to call Tracfone to see what was wrong because the Beast wasn't receiving data from the old phone. So they sent something to my old phone and transfer started and it only took half an hour. So yeah, now I have The Beast working. All that trouble for a phone that I will most likely never use because it's an emergency phone for when I go anywhere alone. But still, it's good to have. Oh yeah, I offered them a cigarette when they finished.

Old Phone New Phone Red Phone Blue Phone

David bought me a new cell phone and for the past three days, he's been trying to get it online and working. Yeah, we had to get a new 5g because the old one just didn't cut it anymore and Tracfone said we had to update. So we opted for the big ass Motorola. I call it the Beast. It was cheaper than the LG.

So, David has been trying to get the Beast working and get all the bells and whistles that I probably won't ever use like Google Gmail and shit like that in working order. The first problem was my Google password. One of the characters was a % sign. He couldn't for the life of him find it so I had to go in and change my password on my laptop. It was due for the bimonthly change anyways. So I changed it online and wrote it down for him to read it and he got that part working. Then it got close to bedtime so he stopped. That was the end of day one.

Tuesday, after work, he tried to get something working so I could access an app that he put on the Beast. Nope refused to work because he didn't sync the old phone with the new phone first so the new phone refused to work. Bedtime. He said he would try to work on it again tomorrow.

Wednesday rolled in. He was successful in getting the Gmail account going. ??? Two days and he got one thing working. WTF David???
So after dinner, he was trying to get the passcode to sync the phones. He had trouble reading how he would get the passcode. I asked him why. He said he couldn't read what it wanted. I asked why. He said he couldn't see it. I asked, couldn't see what? He said he couldn't see what the phone wanted him to do to get the passcode. I asked why again and he said he couldn't read it. I threw up my hands in exasperation and went to get my shower.

I came out of the bathroom and asked if he finally got the passcode. He said that he couldn't read what the phone wanted him to do. So I grabbed the Beast and went to settings and brightened the screen. Then I gave it back to him to finish what he was trying to do. He still couldn't read it. So I grabbed the phone and he was right the little "how do you want to receive the passcode" box was a dark blue/green with really dark red lettering. You couldn't really read it. So, I tilted the phone in such a way to block the glare and low and behold the little bastard was asking do you want the passcode to be sent to such and such phone number or do you want it by David's email. I sware I could read it plain as day but David said it wasn't readable. He was right.

He walked off with both my old and the new phones to finish his task mumbling under his breath that not only do I have superhuman nose and hearing abilities that could smell and hear an ant fart in a hurricane but that now I could see a gnat doing a striptease too. He came back three minutes later with both phones and laid the old on top of the new one on the coffee table in front of me and said that they are syncing data, don't separate them until tomorrow. He said he would check on them in the morning to see if everything is kosher.

So, now I'm sitting here, it's 1:29 in the morning. Thursday. I can't sleep even though I took two sleeping pills. A third straight night with only four hours sleep in 66 hours awake and I'm watching my old phone humping the Beast on my coffee table. WTF??? Should I offer them cigarettes when they finish? Is that the protocol?

Side Note: It is 10:09 at this time in the morning and they are still at it. 75% synced. Should I throw water on them?

Tuesday This and That

This past weekend David and I drew up an "In Case I Die" to-do sheet. It will come in handy if anything happens to one or both of us. This is something we have been thinking about for a while now. We decided to let his daughter know what our final wishes are going to be when we kick-off. The paper shows a step by step to-do list just in case the survivor, be it David or myself who can't think straight at the time of a spouse's death, will have this list to help them cope with what to do. It gives the family lawyer numbers, coroner number, the place where we want our funerals and that we want to be cremated which includes what to do with our ashes. We wrote everything down and put it in an envelope and then put it in a fire-safe box that we keep all our important papers. We also put the important personal, house, and vehicle papers and insurance in another envelope along with the regular wills we had drawn up last month, our living wills, and DNRs if we need to be in the hospital. It's a smart move that I learned when my dad died. David said when his mother died it was utter chaos. He had no clue what to do or where to go. We both agreed that this will help either one of us or his daughter when the time comes.
This morning I saw a New York Times article about how the Coronavirus can spread and how to protect yourself. People just don't understand that a virus can last anywhere from 10 to 14 days on a surface before it dies. Read this article and you will most likely change your habits a little bit. One note in the article, they never mentioned that money is a possible transmission vector. A vector is an object that the virus can be residing on until it comes into contact with a new host. You can read more about the myths of coronavirus here and what the CDC says here
We have to keep Spunky locked up in the TV room because it's a safer place than the rest of the house. We have childproofed the room for his safety so he doesn't get tied up in lamp or TV wires or stuck behind a piece of furniture. Because he is blind, he tends to walk into the strangest predicaments. So we keep a child gate up at the entrance to the TV room for that reason. It keeps him in a safe place in the house.
Well, David was very forgetful this morning. Oh, he emptied the garbage and turned out the lights and turned off the TV before he left for the office this morning but he forgot one little thing. The child gate that we always have in place on the doorway was not there. He forgot to put it back up before leaving and Spunky got out.
I nearly had a heart attack when I walked into the kitchen this morning. I was drinking water that I carry around in my hospital mug, I have like five of those things from all the hospital stays in the past seven years. I had just taken my morning meds and I was drinking water and walking into the kitchen and screamed bloody blue murder. Spunky was walking around on the other side of the center island. I didn't expect to see him there. He's usually sleeping until 10 am and then I carry him outside so he can do his business. So, I carried him outside and came back in to check around in the kitchen for anything he might have left me as a present. Nope, nothing. I called David to bitch him out about this mishap and then went out to get the Spunkinator. I carried him to the TV room and put him on his bed where he curled up and went to sleep right away. The little guy is so sweet. Lucy, on the other hand, was pissed off. Spunky had eaten all of her breakfast that David had left for her in her dish. I made a scrambled egg with sausage for her and tea and toast for myself and then we both went outside to enjoy the morning. It was nice because it was cool but not muggy. We are expecting a heavy rainstorm tonight or tomorrow morning when the front comes through. I decided not to water the courtyard plants because of that reason. The rain barrels are nearly empty so the predicted rain will be very welcomed since we are still in a drought.
The bees are still out in force. I had to catch one that got into the house when I took Spunky outside this morning. I always keep a dish towel on hand for that reason. So far, it seems I catch and release on average anywhere from four to five honey bees a day. They seem to come through the screen/glass kitchen door. They squeeze in through a small opening on the upper corner of the threshold where the door has just a slight opening. The only way to keep them out is to close the inner door but I love to let the sunlight into that part of the kitchen as much as possible. Usually, spring and fall are the only times I can leave the doors open to let in the fresh air and extra light.
Well, I have to go catch another bee that got in, then I have to throw a loaf of bread dough that is about ready to bake. So, Y'all have a magical day.
