Mother Nature Gone Crazy, BarkBox, and The Walking Dead

Shit! Mother Nature is the greatest prankster out there. She's playing all kinds of bad April Fools jokes on us today. Rain, snow, high winds, freezing temperatures. I could go on but I won't. Oh hell, why not.

Just when I thought we were going to have spring temperatures forever, fall temps hit us. We will be into the high 30's to mid 40's for the next two days. I already planted my hollyhocks, larkspurs, yarrow, petunias and all the other flower seeds. I don't want them to die. Yes! I got a whole shit load of seeds in the mail last week from one of my Seed Porn catalogs. Swallowtail Garden Seeds  has great prices and great customer service. I'm buying from them again next year.

The puppies received their second BarkBox in the mail two wee ks ago on Saturday. They were so happy when I told them they had mail. Lucy was going crazy. Spunky is totally blind but he could smell the toy because that's what he went for the minute I opened the box and set it on the floor so they could check out their goodies. Lucy went for the treat bags. She knows what they are now. I opened the bag of Soft Baked Peanut Butter Cookies and gave one each because I didn't want them ruining their dinner. Spunky was having too much fun with the Sherlock Holmes squeaky hat.  They also sent them a saucer shaped treat maze toy. You put treats in the top and bottom of the toy and the dogs bat it around to get the treats out. Spunky heard me demonstrating it to Lucy and Pebbles and came over and started batting it around. Lucy got wise and stayed next to Spunky as he unknowingly hit the saucer and released a treat. She would quickly scarf the treat up before anyone was the wiser. Smart little shit. I think I'll renew for a year in September when this subscription is up. They deserve it and the BarkBox is really worth every penny.

They have great stuff for all Dead Heads at this store
Mkay! All y'all know that I am a Walking Dead fan. I mean WE are the ultimate TWD fans, David and I live for Zombie Apocolypse shit. We even watch the reruns every year when they run them on the AMC channel before the start of the new season in October. We share emails with each other throughout the day with pictures of the ultimate weapons, shelters, or vehicles to fight the Zombies aka Walkers. I even have a Zombie Killer license plate cover on my car. Yeah, we're Dead Heads(not the Greatful Dead kind).

Well, this coming Sunday night is the last of The Walking Dead season six. It is said that it will be the most powerful season-ending yet. I thought Glen's pseudo death was bad enough. Viewers rioted and took over Twitter and Facebook with that episode. Some viewers even went on strike. Yes! They refused to watch the next episodes until they brought Glen back. You would have to watch the series in order to understand what I'm talking about.

    SPOILER ALERT-SPOILER ALERT-SPOILER ALERT-SPOILER ALERT

Turn back now and don't read any further if you haven't seen up to Sunday's episode.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan
What I heard was that Negan pronounced Nee-gan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan)  will make the biggest entrance on TWD ever. Morgan has been on other TV shows and movies, most noted as Jason Crouse on The Good Wife, Denny Duquette on Grey's Anatomy, and John Winchester on Supernatural.

Negan is supposed to be meaner and nastier than any bad guy on TWD to date. He has a baseball bat with barbed wire wrapped around it that he calls Lucille. I don't know for sure who will get their head bashed in but it will happen to one of the major characters. There is a reference from someone on the web that said this will happen in the last minutes of the finale and then the screen will fade to black. But that's only what I heard.

People are talking all over the web about who's head will meet up with Lucille. Some are speculating that it will be Sasha, Rosita or Abraham. Daryl, Rick or Michonne would mean an end to the series itself if they are killed off. Glen would bring the comic books (Yes, there is a comic book for TWD online) into the story line up to date and also bring on another riot from the fans. If they kill off Maggie then that would bring an end to the baby she's carrying and I don't think the director and producers of the show want to even go there because the fans would go apeshit crazy. The fans want to see the baby and they also want Glen to be there for the birth. My bet is going to be on Sasha. We will actually find out maybe in October starting on Season 7 or this Sunday. Who knows. I'm a little apprehensive in wanting to watch the finale of this season. At any rate, David is taping it on the DVR.

Oh My GAWD ... It's Finally Friday!!!

I know this is a late post, so sue me. Anywho I was busy this morning looking over different doggie toy and snack home delivery services on the internet. I found that BarkBox.com is the best in everything available. They are simply amazing. I couldn't believe the service. I had to talk with someone about my puppies. I asked if they could leave out the plush toys because my dogs tend to demolish them within seconds. The person I chatted with on Live Chat was more than happy to make changes for me. These guys are 1st rate when it comes to making your dog happy. The prices are the lowest of the three different places I visited too. I opted for the six-month plan. Oh, and if y'all are wondering, I am not getting paid in any way, shape, or form to say all this about this doggie site. If you have a dog or dogs you really love and you want to show them, then I would highly recommend BarkBox.com. Oh and delivery is free.

This weekend David and I are going out for breakfast for V-day. Yeah, we decided to not do the dinner thing this year because it's always so fucking crowded and loud at a restaurant. I can't believe that people bring their kids on Valentines Day. It ruins the atmosphere when you have a screaming or loud child at the table next to you and your significant other. So we are doing breakfast and spending the day together and then watching The Walking Dead that night. Squeeeeeeee!! I can't wait.

Monday

I'm feeling a bit better. I finished my ZPac antibiotics Sunday morning. I still have my cough, but it's not a "burning my lungs and wanting to rip the bloody things out" kind of cough. It's a dry cough with lots of fatigue. Yes, I'm very tired because I can't get any sleep. So I have been spending a lot of time on the internet playing around. Not much else to do except watch TV which is boring as hell.
Sunday night was really bad. Nothing on TV to watch. The Walking Dead is in hiatus until February 14th. Then it starts back up with 8 more episodes. Strange how some shows do 8 and 8 instead of just playing reruns for the holidays and then going back to regular routine. It all sucks.
I found out over the weekend that David will be off for the Christmas/New Year shutdown at work in about 2 weeks. Yes, I have exactly 2 weeks to get my shit together to figure out a game plan to keep him busy and leave me alone while he's home. Oh, and I found out it's not just for one week that he will be home, but for 2 weeks shutdown vacation. Crap on toast. What am I going to do? There isn't enough work to keep him busy all day. I might as well save some money and run away from home in order to get peace and quiet. The man gets bored and bothers me, and if that's not all he sends the puppies into where ever I am to bother me. Oh well, it's only 2 weeks. I'll muddle through it all.

Tuesday - The Ugly One

It's 64 degrees outside this morning. YEAH, 64 fucking cool degrees, People! The bad thing is that it will be hot today. San Antonio says 91, but I say in the mid to high 80's. You see this is a small town. We don't have big blowhards running around warming up the air out here.
Anywho, I am enjoying my coffee right now with the windows open. The wind is blowing a light breeze just enough to make the wind chimes stir. It's pretty nice today so far. Yesterday I busted my ass cleaning and doing laundry because I didn't feel like it over the weekend. So today I don't have a thing to do. I was going to just stay in bed and watch TV all morning, but I can't do that. It wears on my mind that I'm doing nothing when I can be doing something. I just have to be busy or go insane.
David has a birthday coming up this Sunday and we will most likely make a day of it. He loves to go to IHop for breakfast on his B-day so IHop it is. Then we will be visiting friends if he feels like it. He has no family to speak of except his daughter. She will most likely come down from Austin to visit. I love when she comes to see us.
Sunday night also starts the new season of The Walking Dead. David is so psyched for that. He has gone completely nuts with this zombie craze. He has gotten completely into the online Walking Dead comic book. He even reads it when he comes home for lunch. I won't say every waking moment is spent on that online comic book, but it's close. Thank the Goddess that his office has limited online web access. Otherwise, he would never get shit done.
This has been one fucking boring post. I'm sorry, but this is a quiet town, nothing really interesting or big happens here. So I'm going to repot some house plants right now and pick up and shell some pecans that fell from the trees in the yard. I might make a pecan pie tomorrow and a couple of banana bread loaves. Who knows.

My Weekend

I'm blogging a bit late this morning because I had to go to my doctors office and have bloodwork drawn. My doctor seems to think I'm diabetic. I had to have my fasting insulin level drawn plus and iron binding today because my iron levels are up. In May, I will have to do this all before I finally see my doctor again.

our new weed puller
Our weekend started early. David took half a day off on Friday afternoon. He wanted to get something over at Home Desperate for the hose. Now y'all know David doesn't just go to Home Desperate for one needed thing. He gets the one needed thing, plus he brings home other things he says he needed but didn't see them last time he was there. Yes, yes he does. Every single time.

Well, Friday he brought home a weed puller that saves you from having to bend over to pull weeds. Yes, it's the kind where you step in the lever at the bottom and the teeth of the weed puller gets shoved into the ground around the weed. Then it encloses around said weed and pulls it out. You just push the yellow lever in the center to make it release the weed and go pull another one. It is efficient I'll say that for it. Sort of like a catch and release system. Somehow I wonder if I should buy stock in Home Desperate. After all, in another 20 years David will own every fucking thing that they sell.

So after he pulled about 5 or 6 weeds, he came inside and sat down and watched Jerry Springer and then Maury. Trash TV as usual. I finished the laundry and went into the living room on the other side of the house where it's really nice and quiet and surfed the web.

On Saturday, he finished pulling weeds from the front lawn and came in. It was fairly warm outside. We are using our AC already and it's just spring. I was baking and cleaning house as usual. I made a pecan pie from a recipe that I made corrections on. It turned out great! Saturday night was boring so we ate some pie and watched John Wick and Dracula Untold. Two movies I've been wanting to see. Dracula was ok. It could have been better. John Wick was an action packed fun shoot-em-up, if you like that sort of thing like I do. If you want to know about the movies check them out on Wiki.

Michonne and her katana
Sunday David washed the dog blankets and gave the dogs a bath. I was down for the count in bed most of the afternoon with the heating pad and meds. My back was giving me hell as it is right this very minute. But I was able to make dinner for David. I didn't eat. Pain does that to me. Then I took a long shower to let the hot water beat on my back, went to bed and fell asleep. I did wake up in time for The Walking Dead season finale. The show was fairly boring, but I was glad things at Arlington will change. Morgan showed up, which made me happy, and Michonne finally put her katana back on. She looked whole as if she had been missing a dear friend for so long.
