I use to scare the crap out of myself with the scare crow I put up in the garden. Took me forever before I quit jumping every time I rounded the corner of the barn and saw it there.
We used to make a pumpkin man for Halloween week. Headless, he would sit (wearing an old jump suit of MHN's) on the porch by the door holding a dripping red cutlass. Sacred the postman several times. Even scared me a time or two when I was thinking of other things. Then Halloween night, he got his jack-o-lantern head. One year we had a small boy who refused to come to the door because of him. I had to go out to give away his candy!
