David bought a new gas can yesterday because the old one sprang a leak. Well, this morning he pulled the lawnmower out of his man shed and was going to fill the tank and the gas can wouldn't pour the gas. He bought a gas can that he doesn't know how to open. 

BWAAAHAHAHAAAHAHAHAHAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAAA!

I'm dying laughing to myself. It's so funny. He spent nearly an hour trying to figure it out. He's now on Youtube trying to figure it out. I'm guessing he will just go and buy an easier can to store gas for the lawnmower. But I have to say I have never seen anything that he has bought from Home Desperate that bested him. You can't make this shit up.

I got bored this morning and wanted to make a Pina Colada cake but no cake mix or cake flour so I found a blogger a while back that makes her own cake flour. Seriously, and when I did it the cake turned out amazing. It was fluffy and moist not like regular recipes that ask for just the flour.

You take the all-purpose flour like the recipe asks for say 1 cup of flour, take 2 tablespoons of the all-purpose flour from it and then add 2 tablespoons of cornstarch. Whisk it a bit then sift it about 5 times and maybe once more for good measure. It's 2 tablespoons of cornstarch per 1 cup all-purpose flour But don't forget to take the 2 tablespoons of flour from it first. I found this idea from here:

It's Thursday

We are expecting another cold front tonight or into tomorrow morning. I have pretty much decided that I won't bother about them and just take it all in stride. After all, I can't do anything about them or the pain. So, whatever.

David has been wandering about the house because he is now in the anxious stage, Denial was Monday. I told him he could go out and get my car inspected and get the tax sticker on it. So he is out and about. Keeping me from killing him. Lucy has been following him around and has recently resigned to sitting next to me again most of the day. She had that strange worried look on her face when she looked up at me this morning like "why is daddy home, mom?" I would just look at her and shake my head, "I don't know, baby girl. I don't know."

I need to get a "To Do" list started so that he can look at it most of the morning and think about doing some or none of the jobs. It will keep him busy and stop him from bothering me. I have the shopping list ready for tomorrow morning so that will keep him from insanity for an hour. But the rest of the day is up in the air. I need to get that list started.

I'm saving the puppy blankets for him to wash for when he gets back from the car fiasco. I wonder if he knows how to use the washer? Last time I ended up stepping in to finish the job because he started fighting over why I use the deep clean instead of normal setting to do his jeans. I have my reasons Mr. Commando.

Wet Cat Wednesday

I've been feeling like every fucking cold, warm, wet and dry front has come through my area in the last 32 hours. It hurts. Yes. Yes, it does but I'm going to push through this shit to get things done. Otherwise, David would be bothering me every fifteen seconds, "Hon! What temperature do you set the washer on for colored clothes? How much soap do I put in the wash?" And it would go on and on and on until I would just have to shoot him to put him out of my misery. Yes, I know he wants to help me when I feel bad but you know what? If I push through this pain and do it myself I don't have to get up three or four times to see what he is doing before I tell him how to do something. Personally, I'm working on a "How to do it Yourself" book for him in case I croak. It would have laundry, cleaning, and cooking recipes and tips so he could do it himself. 

David is home for good now. He got laid off work along with quite a few others in his office on Thursday last week so things are changing around the house. We are good though. He has paid vacation leave, sick leave, and severance pay that will carry us until September and in October I will be collecting Social Security. We also have a considerable amount in the 401k's that we have hiding in the bank. I was wise to intercede back in 2002 when I joined this circus to pay off the house when we renovated it, his truck and pay cash for my car when I bought it. So there are no bills except utilities and the property tax bill. So we will be fine money-wise. Health insurance is taken care of through Medicare and we have life insurance through our home and car insurance group. So we are pretty damned set. Although I want to try to get extra health insurance to cover us just in case. But we are looking into that.

Great I moved to the sofa, couch, whatever anyone wants to call it, I'm here. I started a load of laundry because I didn't want to do laundry over the weekend. I should have though. Why I never listen to my inner voice I will never know. When I get to moving again I'll vacuum and dust. I was going to go outside and water the courtyard plants but we are expecting rain sometime within the next few hours or is that days? Anywho, I'm putting that off and letting momma nature take care of it for me.
