Samhain Blessings to All

Out For The Day

Sorry, but I had a bad night. We have a front coming through and it's bringing rain. I'm in a lot of pain so I'm going to spend the day in bed on the heating pad. Tomorrow is Wet Cat Wednesday the Halloween edition.

Monday and I Over Slept

We had two very cold mornings this weekend. This morning it was also cold in the low 40's but not as bad as the mid 30's of Saturday and Sunday. David forgot to bring in my hanging baskets for me. I thought the petunias were going to die but they survived the weekend cold. Amazing! I still intend to repot them this week. I wasn't able to do it earlier last week because I couldn't find the right sized pots. I found a butt load of them in the garden shed. I really need to clean that thing out.
David lit the furnace on Friday evening and the puppies had the mineral oil heater in the TV room which was warm and toasty for them. David and I had the main heater/furnace temperature setting on 64. We like it cold at night. Good reason to cuddle. Anywho, it's going to start heating up again into the 60's and 80's. Rain is also coming on Samhain. I was hoping for dry and cold so I could do my ritual outside but we got rain. Oh well, today I'll have to get David to help me carry the pineapple plants back outside because of the warm weather that is here now. Yes, two mornings of cold temperatures and then all this summer weather again.

Tuesday, Give me Strength

I need to rescue my lemon and pineapple plants this week. I have the pots and soil, I just don't have the energy. I have a total of five lemon plantlets and three pineapple plants that need to go into larger pots for the coming winter. I'll be letting them sit in the extra room off from the kitchen in front of the windows with the grow lights on them when it's overcast. I have until Friday to repot them and bring them in before they die in the cold on Saturday. I also have to repot my trailing petunias into their winter pots. They have lasted much longer than I thought they would. They have overgrown their hanging baskets. I'm going to propagate them so in the spring, I'll be looking to buy more baskets.

It's supposed to get down into the 30's and 40's starting this weekend. We had a front slide through here early this morning. Yeah, I felt that bugger coming. It kept me up most of the night. Right now the temperature is warmer than it was yesterday morning. The weather guy called it a cold front. Really? A cold front? We will have a real cold front arriving on Saturday and the temperatures will fall into the mid 30's and 40's. Now that's a fucking cold front. David said he's going to light the furnace tonight. I said wait until Friday. I'm hoping we have nothing but colder weather from this weekend until spring. I've already taken my all my summer clothes and exchanged them for my cooler winter clothes. So, it has to stay cold.
David and I watched John Wick 2 this past weekend on HBO. It was a better sequel to the first movie than I thought it would be. If you haven't seen it yet, I'll keep quiet about it. All I will say is that the ending leaves it open for a John Wick 3 to be made. If there is a third installment in the John Wick series then the third one will most likely be the last. Also, the pit bull he rescued in the first movie is in the second. He's a cutie too. I love pits. If you raise them right they are the sweetest lovable fur babies there are.

It's Monday

I did not want to get up this morning. It was so nice and cold and the bed was so warm, soft and cozy. But I had to get up even though I have absolutely nothing to do today.

While I was in bed I was going over things in my mind of "what if". What if we had continued going to the moon and then colonizing it. Do you know that we might be actually colonizing Mars right now? We might have made such great strides in the name of science that we would never have thought of today. But because of past inactions of Presidents, Congress and let us not forget the religious fanatics, that's just a "what if" now.

David just called, I have errands to do right now. Catch y'all later.

Ugly Sister? Yeah, It Must Be Tuesday

Update from yesterday: The electricians came by about 2pm. They were very quick too. They replaced the dryer plug, pulled the wires because there was a lot of wire in the conduit. I think they were here for 20 minutes and said they would bill us when they left. It was very strange because no one has ever said they would bill us before. For that matter, no repairman has ever been that quick either.
I dearly love Coach Gregg Popovich. If none of you know him, he is the outspoken, soon to be inducted into the NBA's Coach Hall of Fame, coach of the San Santonio Spurs NBA basketball team. He already bashed The Moron in Chief once and now he's gone and done it again in light of the fact that The Moron said none of our presidents before him called the families of fallen soldiers. Yeah, this Dipshit Moron has been caught in another lie.  You can read it all here. When Coach Pop gets mad it turns out to be a great season for the Spurs. I have a feeling this year is gonna be a zinger.
This morning I made myself coffee. I don't usually drink coffee until it starts getting cold outside in the morning. This morning it was 49 degrees. YES! It was wonderful. So I got my coffee maker out from under the island and made a cup of my favorite Kona coffee. While it was doing its thing, I was checking things on my list of "To Do" stuff for today. I was going to hook up the dryer hose but David did it this morning. I was going to move everything back into the washroom but David did that too. The only thing left for me to check was get all the trash out to the cans and move them to the curb. Yes, David did all that too. So, I'm wondering when did aliens land and take over his body?

Short Post

We had a cold front come through yesterday. Although it was quite painful for me I absolutely loved it. Today is pretty and very cool. it was 54 degrees at 6:30 this morning. it will only be in the mid 70's today. I'm hoping it stays this way.
We had a lovely weekend until the dryer quit. I was doing the last load and it just up and died on me. When  I went to check on the load in the dryer, I noticed it hadn't finished its cycle. So I turned it back on and heard a crackling sound coming from the dryer plug on the wall. David checked it out. Heard the same noise and went to the fuse box and turned the electricity to the plug off. He unplugged the dryer and took out the wall socket and found the connections were all charred. I was remembering that I smelled something electrical burning all week but I couldn't find where it was coming from. Found out this was the reason. Now we have to find the cause. So David called an electrician to come out and see if they can find the cause and replace the wires. David also did one thing I don't think he needed to do and that was buy a new dryer. He said better safe than sorry. He just replaced that dryer I believe last winter. Anywho, we will see what happens when the guy gets here.

OMG! It's Friday!

Today is Friday the 13th. YES!!! My favorite day of the year! My life sucks, so fucking bad, what could be worse, RIGHT??!!! Did anyone hear about the "Last flight to HEL?" Yeah, it's flight 666 from Copenhagen at the 13th hour to Helsinki Finland (HEL). Read it here. So fucking cool.

Yes' I'm back. This past week, when I was off, was very hard for me. My pain level was unreal. I was feeling the cold front that was coming through this week, yeah, feeling it close to seven days in advance. That's pretty sad. So I had to take some time off. We have another cold front coming in on Sunday with rain so I never really stopped hurting.  I have to be mindful of what could happen if I do too much. So that means doing the laundry one load a day and only vacuuming one or two rooms a day. Meal prep is spent as ten minutes cooking and a few minutes on the heating pad on the couch. Lately, I'm making a lot of stews and casseroles for David to make it easier on me. That's my life.
My plants in the courtyard have all gone to hell except my pineapple and lemon plants. they seemed to have thrived. They love the low heat and humidity as well as the cooler temperatures. I watered them all yesterday. My Rosemary will have to be chopped up a bit later this fall. Yeah, not prune that bitch. Chop. It has grown out of its wine barrel. So I'll have to get David to chop it back and then cut the roots and then repot it in another wine Barrel. It grew from a tiny 5-inch tall baby to an overgrown monster in eleven years. Every year I said I would prune it back but then something happened to me that made it impossible to do it. Well this year, "I'm gonna get you, my pretty and your huge roots too."
David and I went to Saltgrass last Sunday to have lunch with his daughter. She's so pretty and a really sweet young woman. I just love her so much. She treated us both to a birthday lunch. She always bunches our birthdays together near David's birthday and we celebrate one big birthday. We both received $50 Visa cards to spend. I love that because I always need something and the cash comes in handy. We had a funny waiter who joked around with us and we had a great time.

Well, I have laundry to get to. David has the day off. No telling where we will be off to today.

In Case You Missed It

I'm back. I needed some time off to recharge and do a few things around the house. I have to say it helped. I have to get some errands done this morning and then I have a doctor appointment. I'm going to leave y'all with 2 videos from Saturday Night Live. Enjoy and have a great day.
