It's Monday and I'm Screwed

So far, I'm not dead. Yet. But on Saturday morning I got up at 8:38 and all hell broke loose. I mean to tell you it did. To begin with, I went into the kitchen with my water jug and I wasn't paying attention to where I was stepping. I stepped on one of Spunky's wet pee pads which caused my right leg to go one way and my body another. In other words, I did the splits and then I passed out because something popped in my right leg. I woke up around 9 am from passing out. David wasn't home, he had gone to get the washer I asked him to buy and he wouldn't be home for hours. I couldn't move, my right leg hurt so bad that when I tried to get up, I nearly passed out again from the pain.
So I sat on the kitchen floor assessing my options. Okay, no phone in my possession, only my water jug about 6 feet away. Get the water jug. I got it with some really good reaching skills and the cloth shopping bags on the kitchen stool in front of me. Thank the Goddess the lid never came off of the water jug so I had a really good amount of water. Next was to assess my predicament and try to stand. Nope, that wasn't going to work. The pain was excruciating. Then the only thing I could do was scoot on my ass backwards into the hall and keep my right leg bent so it wouldn't cause pain. I had to get to the phone and the shortest way was through the hall. Keeping the leg bent kept me from experiencing pain. I used my arms to drag myself into the hall. But by the time I got to the bathroom doorway I had passed out because I extended the leg and all kinds of flashing lights and sparks flashed before my eyes. I then passed out again. I never made it to the phone in the bedroom.

When David finally came home he was ringing the doorbell frantically thinking it was funny. He had backed his pickup truck to the front porch. I was yelling as loud as I could for him to come help me. He never understood what I was trying to say. He finally went around the house and came in through the kitchen door. I yelled for him to be careful of the wet floor and that I was in the hall. He came in and I calmly told him to bring me some water from the kitchen because I was so thirsty, which he did. Then he asked me what happened and started making jokes and I told him I didn't need any sarcasm from him. I then told him to get the washer into the house, move his truck to the driveway and then bring me a chair so I can try to get up. He did that without saying a word. I tried to get up and couldn't. Either I broke my right femur because the pain was in the back of my upper thigh or I pulled or tore my muscles in the hamstring area. I told David to get a dish towel and wet it with cold water and bring it to me because I was about to pass out again. The towel helped and I asked David to call 911 because trying to get up was not in my stars at the moment. He was almost in a tizzy fit because this had happened while he was gone.
I was sitting in the hallway while he called 911 and gave them information on my predicament. In less than 2 minutes I could hear the sirens blaring towards the house. David said the firetruck pulled up and then the ambulance. There were six guys trying to figure out how to get me out of the hall and onto the gurney without hurting me. Let me just say those EMS and Firemen were buff as fuck. So good looking too. They all ROCK! They got the dining room chair and put it in back of me near the bedroom door. When 2 guys on either side of me and 2 guys with my legs lifted me oh so carefully. It was awesome until I was put onto the chair. then I passed out. By the time I came too they had a blood pressure cuff on me, had taken my blood sugar and had an O2 canula on me and my vitals were being radioed to the hospital. They then moved me and the chair to the gurney in the dining room where they lifted me again and I was put onto the gurney and I was strapped in.
They got me out of the house and into the ambulance. They were so good at their job trying to make the ride as comfortable as possible but let me tell you, an ambulance ride is not the most comfortable ride ever. I felt every bump and grind. Don't they have shocks on those buggers? Anyways, they unloaded me and brought me into the ER. They put me in room 13, nice huh? I noticed it was about 12:43 pm on the wall clock.  There was another patient that everyone was tending to in the room next door. Poor little girl screaming her head off in pain. I figured it was a little girl because I'd worked in ER's long enough to know the age and sex of a child when they scream out in pain. She was probably 5 to 7 years old. From what I heard, it was an ATV accident and she either broke an arm or leg in the rollover. While they were assessing her injuries I was wheeled into x-ray. It was painful for 25 minutes then I was rolled back to my room.
When the doctor came into the room he assessed my leg problem and told me the x-rays proved there was nothing cracked or broken. He then said I must have either pulled the hamstring muscles and or ligaments when I hyperextended the leg. He said he would send someone in to give me a painkiller to make me feel better and then have it wrapped with an ace bandage and he left the room. A nurse gave me a shot of a painkiller in my ass about 15 minutes later and the pain began to subside. Another nurse came in with a rehab person and they wrapped my leg. About 3:50 a nurse came in with my discharge papers and instructions and David signed me out. He then went to get the car and the nurse wheeled me outside and we went to DQ for dinner. When we finally got home, David brought the walker that I had for when I had knee surgery out to the car and we went inside to eat. It was now 4:30pm. What a waste of a day.
So that was my Saturday. Sunday is for tomorrows blog. I'm closing down now and going to catch a few ZZZZ's Y'all be safe.

Lucy, Infection, and Washers, Oh My!

Yesterday about 3 in the afternoon it got really dark outside. I was sitting on the sofa with my laptop so I checked the intellicast website for our area and there was a nasty bunch of yellow and green approaching from the northwest on the map which meant a thunderstorm. About 5 minutes later, the thunder woke Lucy up and I immediately had a little vibrating dog pushing up against my ribs. David called to ask if Lucy was vibrating and we laughed but it wasn't really funny to poor Lucy. She was so scared that she wouldn't eat her dinner. So, I covered it with cling wrap and started making David's dinner and soup for me. She was underfoot the whole time I was cooking. The storm didn't clear out until about 6:30 in the evening. The storm was pretty bad for Lucy. When it finally moved on she was able to eat and she soon became her usual teasing self again. We aren't expecting any more rainstorms, not until Monday next week.
I'm still in a bit of pain and my dentist ordered an antibiotic to fight off the residue of infection so it doesn't travel to my knees. When you have joints replaced in your body, any infection could travel to that joint and cause problems, meaning the infection attacks the bone tissue that the fake joint is attached to. This happened to me when I had a kidney infection and the doctor had to take out my left fake knee joint and I had to undergo infection control by having a central line put in my arm and having antibiotic IV every evening for 2 months. I did finally get a new fake knee put back in but I don't want to go through all that pain again, ever.
David and I are going to Home Desperate to buy a new washer. The one we have is a top loader and it would cost us beyond what we bought it for on sale to have it repaired. It has to have the computer board replaced for $400. So fuck it, we'll buy a new one. I told David I went online and found a really nice top loader washer and it's not on any recall list, in fact, it's one of the top buyers guide washers for 2018. We will see what happens Saturday.

Molar Gone and David is Dead Meat

It's 9:38 as I write this. I just finished getting my tooth pulled and I, of course, feel no pain right now. I will be hurting as soon as the novocaine wears off but for now, I'm glad this is all over. David thought it would be funny to call me just a few minutes ago and see how I sound. He was making all these strange noises like a person had their tongue and jaw all numb. Very funny laughing boy. You just wait. I'll get you, and your little dog too.
Anyhoo they gave me a goody bag when I left. It has an ice pack bag and extra gauze. But I'm hardly bleeding from my tooth being pulled this time. I've only had to change the gauze out twice now. This whole weekend was painful with that damned broken tooth. I could only cook for David and not for me. I was stuck with chicken broth. The good thing is that I lost 8 pounds. I won't be eating anything good for at least three more days. ~sigh~
I'm not sure but Mercury must be in retrograde because everything is breaking down. The washer is screwed up again and the repairman will be here this afternoon. The tv in our bedroom has no sound. This morning we lost cable and phone. I had some sewing to do yesterday and my sewing machine wouldn't work. I give up, this is beginning to really piss me off now. I'm like WTF! The whole time I was driving to and from the dentist's office I'm thinking the car is going to break down, I just know it. Thankfully it didn't but that doesn't mean that it won't happen when I need to go someplace later on today. So, I am not touching anything electronic or anything that costs us big bucks for the rest of the week until this is over. I can't handle another thing breaking.

Follow up to Broken Molar

Someone canceled their appointment and my dentist called to say there was an opening and I jumped on that fucker. I finally got an appointment for tomorrow morning at 8a.m. I'm so happy.

It's a Boy and a Broken Molar

She had a baby boy!!!
Yes! The Duchess of Cambridge gave birth at 1101 a.m. London time to a baby boy weighing 8 pounds 7 ounces. There was no known name for the little prince yet. The Duchess and little Prince are doing well.
I don't give a flying fuck if y'all don't like the royal family. I really don't care. I happen to love them with all their bad and good. I just happen to love them.
I broke a molar Friday night at dinner and immediately the pain started. I took a couple of Tylenol and went to sleep. But it didn't last. I was up most of the night in pain. Saturday morning I was hunting for a dentist's office that was open on the weekend. No such luck unless I wanted to make the trip out of town. So I am waiting for my dentist's office to open so I hopefully can get in. In the meantime, I'm going to take a couple of Tylenol yet again to offset the pain and go lie down for a bit. I'll blog again later. Y'all have a magical day.

What Happened Monday

Mmkay, on Monday, I had a lot of stuff to take care of. That afternoon I was hurting so bad and then having to take a half hour drive to a new specialist in San Marcos was maddening, to say the least. Well, the doctor saw me and prescribed a drug to take the swelling away. The generic is Hydroxychloroquine for Plaquenil. It's a drug used to treat malaria. Yeah, I have to take half a 200mg tablet for one week, then 1 tablet for the next week, then 2 tablets thereafter. The doctor also wanted several blood tests and x-rays done. I have to have 14 vials of blood drawn this will most likely require an IV line and 23 x-rays of my body. I had the x-rays done, which took about 20 minutes. I'll need to go to the hospital to get the blood drawn because the usual place that I go to doesn't have the facilities for drawing that many vials and it can be life-threatening sometimes. I'm not too worried about it but the place I called is. So the hospital will be my target. I also have to go back to the doctor of course to see the results and to see what the next call will be.
So, the pain of waiting for the doctor to finalize all this stuff I have to get done was making me sick. Then David wanted to go to eat so we went. I figured I would feel better with something in my stomach. Eating did make me feel better. Then we talked about the tests and all the X-rays. I wanted to back out but David being the way he is, felt that if finding out what is making me a hot mess will make me better then he was all for it no matter the cost. So, we went to the Imaging Center and I got the x-rays done. it was painful and I was so grateful that that part was over. We talked it over on the drive home and he will take me to and from the hospital because I might not be able to drive. We will schedule it for next month before I go back to see the doctor.
So, that was the reason why I wasn't blogging for Monday and Tuesday. I was hurting so bad and not sleeping. Wednesday I thought of blogging about this but I saved it for today. I can't let my dog loving friends down. I'm feeling a bit better today and since I've been on the new drug some of the swelling in my back has come down. At least I'm able to sit and stand without so much pain. Lucy has been watching over me. She refuses to go to bed until I go first. If I go to bed early she lays at the foot of the bed waiting for David. When he comes to bed she leaves and sleeps in the hall. She gets up when I get up. She is my constant shadow, watching my every move. When I did laundry yesterday she stood guard at the laundry room door facing the kitchen, as if she was protecting me from someone. It was a bit unnerving to see her like that. David says she's protecting the mommy. Let her do her job. She feels useful that way. So, my shadow is protecting me. I'll have to leave her inside the house because I'm going to cut back my roses and try to cut down a dead bougainvillea that died over the winter. Lucy is not going to like that.

Another quick note

Okay, gang, I had to have an MRI this morning and I'm heading out to my doctor in about 5 minutes. He's up in San Marcos. Long uncomfortable drive and my back is already killing me today. This should be a fucking butt load of fun for me. David said he wants to go to an early dinner afterward but I'm not in favor of sitting for that long. Ciao. Y'all have a magical day.

Quick Note

This morning, just a smidgen after midnight, we had a nasty thunderstorm. Hight winds and a butt load of lightning. It seemed to go on forever. I was up until 1:30 with a very nervous Lucy watching the storm out the window. Well. this morning David woke up and said he never heard the storm at all. The man could sleep in the middle of a cattle stampede. Yes, Yes he could.
Anyhoo, we lost a huge tree branch off one of the pecan trees. David, who didn't know about the storm, swore that we have some fat ol' squirrels around the neighborhood. I asked why and he said there was a large tree limb on the ground. I told him he must be deaf because we had a rather nasty storm. I asked him so you going to cut that beast up so the city can pick it up or are you going to just leave it? He decided he would cut it up so I wouldn't harp on him. Me? Harp? Really? I would never.

Right now, it's a beautiful morning. Nice and cool in the high 60's with a slight breeze. So pretty. I have a lot of work to get to this morning. Y'all play nice and have a magical day.

Wow! Done!

I can't believe I got all that stuff done in record time and I'm home. The repair guy just left too. He was waiting for me when I pulled into the carport. The call didn't cost as much as I thought it would. He reset the motherboard in the washer and everything is hunky dory again. I just can't wash pillows anymore. I'll have to use the nasty washers at the laundromat for that.
Lucy was really nice too. She was all curious about the guy but didn't jump on him like she used to do with strangers. She was very respectful, even shook his hand. I was impressed. I have been working with her when people come over to visit. She seems to have gotten the idea of being a good little dog and not being obnoxious.
We are expecting a front through here sometime this evening. I can't wait for it to pass. I'm feeling the pain in my back and it's not good today. Driving around wasn't helping all that much either. I was so glad that I was able to finish my errands and finally get back on the heating pad. David will have to cook tonight because this is a bit much for me.

Oh, all of you that commented and emailed me your horror stories about your front loader washers, thank you. I showed David all the evidence and he said we will stick with top loader washers until doomsday. I am so glad y'all helped me on this. Thank you so much for your input. It really saved us in the future.
Well, I have laundry to catch up on. Y'all play nice and have a magical day.

Errands First

I'm going to be running errands and doing some sketchy shit most of the morning and then I have a repair dude from Sears coming to finally fix the washer later today. I won't hold my breath. I'll post later. Ciao Y'all.

David Has Tourettes

David has Tourettes. Yes. Yes, he does. How did I arrive at that diagnosis you ask? Well first, I saw a funny meme post from Twitter on Yellow Dog Granny's blog yesterday and it's posted at the top. Second, Yesterday, Comrade Orange had to come on the TV while we were eating lunch and David started muttering, "Dumb ass. Fucking moron."  As the telecast of Comrade Orange continued so did David's Tourettes. It got louder and uglier as Comrade Orange kept patting himself on the back. David's strange bout of Tourettes continued all the way out to his truck and probably all the way back to work. Poor David. He's much better today.

Crazy Witch's Day Book - Monday

How I Feel: How I feel? Well, I coughed up another fucking lung this morning and my voice is still cracking but I feel fine otherwise. I'm not huffing and puffing as I normally would with a bad cold. Lucy follows me like a shadow. I'm guessing she's worried I'm gonna croak any second. I'm slowly working my way out of it. I hope by Wednesday I'll feel 100%. We'll see.
What Happened Over The Weekend: The weather was awesome. We had a cold front come down our way and David acted like it was the end of the world, whining, why is it so cold? How come it's so cold? Say that in a nasally whiny voice to yourself. Sounds like a kid doesn't it. It got down to the low 40's Saturday and Sunday so I made a batch of chili for dinner on Saturday afternoon. That warmed him up. I spent the weekend wrapped up in my nice warm fake fur blanket with Lucy on the couch catching up on some TV shows I missed while I was sick. So glad we have DVR. David stayed in the TV room and watched his shows on Netflix. It was really nice. I didn't feel like doing anything at all so I basically vegged out.
David asked me about the little chihuahua in the front yard. I told him I call him little Paco. He lives down the street and terrorizes the cats and dogs in the neighborhood. He chases the cars and generally just causes havoc. If you don't watch out he'll chew your toes off. Yeah, he's a mean little fucker. David laughed at what I said because the little guy is just the tiniest little chihuahua he ever saw. I mean this tiny terror is no bigger than a dinner plate is wide. It would take 2 and a half of Paco to make a standard sized cat. Paco has been reeking havoc around the neighborhood, roaming the streets looking for trouble. I'll bet he has a gang and sells catnip to the cats on the side. Most likely has a team of little chihuahua ho's turning doggy tricks for dog treats.
What is Going on now: I was going to finish the laundry this morning but the washer quit working. I called Sears to get someone to come fix it but they won't be here until Thursday morning. No wonder Sears is going downhill. Their repair service sucks. I told David next time let's buy from a dealer we can trust with better service than Sears. Someone who will get here ASAP, not four days later. So, now I have 3 loads of laundry to tote down to the laundromat including the load that is sopping wet. Glad I have all those quarters in my little money tin for emergencies like this. I should be done in no time. It's just the dryer time here at home which will take all day.
What I'm Watching: I brought my laptop with me to wash the clothes so I'm watching them wash in the front loaders. Wash time is 15 minutes in these washers. I'm wondering if maybe we should get one of these type of front loader washers instead of a top loader next time we buy. If anyone has a front loader washer, please sound off and let me know the good, the bad, and the ugly about them. I really want to know.
I'm the only one in this place right now. Nobody except the lady that runs the place and does washing for other people that don't have the time. It's very dreary outside. Low clouds and rain, I'm loving it. I seem to thrive on this weather. David said he will be coming by in a few minutes to carry the laundry basket to the car for me and then carry it to the laundry room at home. I can't carry this monster. When I get home I'll probably read blogs and check the news.
