One of the many reasons I stopped going to church. During my years of living in poverty, working 3 jobs I was told I needed to "trust god" more. I was told repeatedly that I did not have enough faith. My pastor and his wife lived in the most expensive area of town. It got to the point where I was too ashamed to tell anyone that though I had paid all the bills that month I did not have enough money to buy food. And when I say that I had paid all the bills I only had the basics. I did not have a cell phone or cable tv. Oh, yes. I was also told that I had to tithe and that was my way of showing my faith. Do you think I am still a little angry and restful? ;-)
