Is the weird pride in enduring people-murdering-cold a trait inherent to those who live in climates inhospitable to humanity 3-to-5 months out of the year? It's the defiance of nature that makes Canadians such affable people, isn't it? Like everyone is just incredibly happy to see any other person not covered by 38 layers or trapped in an icicle or missing the tip of their nose due to frostbite.
