I also noticed that long-suffering look on the mama's face. Maybe years ago I fostered a Mama cat that was having kittens. The first few weeks she was such a good mama. SHe loved her kittens , feeding and cleaning them then teaching them how to look after themselves. By the time 8 weeks came along she was getting annoyed. At 10 weeks she hated them and would hide. If they found her they got a swat that sent them rolling. At that point she walked around with a perpetual angry look on her face.

I can't get the Alan one out of my head. It annoyed me at first, but I've come around to love it so much. Worth the price of admission as always.
