Monday
I can't sleep as usual. I heard thunder and went outside to check on my potted plants that are sitting on the courtyard table. One blew over from the massive winds we are having. We are EWX on the map below. Getting slammed pretty hard here. I'm going to quiet down the puppies and then go back to bed. It's about 2:20AM and I'm very tired.
That was one hell of a storm last night. It didn't last long in our area, but we did get quite a bit of rain, which is always great in my book. It's a little cool and the air is dry this morning. I have my coffee and peanut butter toast, so let's get this shit on the road.
This past weekend I tried to go without any electronic devices such as my computers. David said that I am totally depended upon my computer, and I said he was no different. So we had a bet to see who would cave and be on their computer first over the weekend. I almost shit when I made that bet because I didn't have time to set up my weekend posts. So I'm sorry that I let you all down, but a point had to be made. Incidentally, David lost. He accidentally logged on to his computer Sunday afternoon. Yeah, he forgot about the bet when he came back from Home Desperate, got on his computer and logged into his bank book. By the time I caught him he was cussing up a blue streak. So, next weekend he will be doing all the gardening for me.
I can't believe that this whole week is supposed to be sunny and warm. That will give us ample time to clean out the gardens. David hasn't done a whole lot of gardening. He has to have me around to let him know what should be pruned and planted. You saw my roses last week. They are out of control. David refuses to cut anything unless I tell him it's ok to do so. So while I'm sitting on the porch chilling with a book and some sweet iced tea, he will be doing all the pruning and raking and planting. *sigh* Life is good.

My Pitiful Garden
Yesterday I was outside for a bit surveying the front yard to see what needed to be done. I sware that if anything ever happened to me David would be totally lost. I rarely go outside because it is hard to get up and down the steps to the house. So I braved the stairs and wanted to see how the plants were doing in the garden.
My gardenias need fertilizing bad. The leaves are a pitiful yellow and there are no white flower buds to be seen. The roses are all in bloom, but they need to be pruned. They have grown out of control. My petunias, geraniums, astilbe, lewisia, primroses, and my flowering begonias are all dead. I almost broke down and cried. So this weekend I will have to grab David and have him dig up the dead things and salvage what I can from the garden and prune the roses back to a decent height. I think I'll just stick to the roses in the garden. I'll have to buy new flowers and just keep them in pots on the porch so I can take good care of them.

It's Monday
During Sunday and Monday, we had thunderstorms and rain. This in turn caused a few brownouts, and on Monday we lost our cable DVR to the power surge. So I called Time Warner for help because we were getting a strange message on the DVR stating it needed to update after the last brownout. Well, I ended up calling them twice and nothing on their end seemed to work. So, I called David who was upset about the fact that we had to exchange the DVR. He was not pleased and took the time off anyways.
He came home at 3PM and took the DVR to New Braunfels for a new one. I hooked it up and it didn't work so I called Time Warner again. I made an appointment with them to send a tech out to check the outside box on Wednesday. As you can guess, David was not happy. Turning in the DVR meant that he would lose all the TV shows and movies that he had saved on that DVR, so you can imagine how even more pissed he was that we wouldn't have cable either until then.
On Wednesday, the cable TV tech came early to the house. checked the message on the cable and then went outside to check the box and the connections. He had to replace the whole cable line from the pole across the street to our house. Turns out the squirrels in the area had been chewing on the cable connection on the pole. He then set up the HD box in our bedroom so we could get better cable reception in there. He was there for only a half hour and we had everything back. Well except for David's TV shows he had taped on the DVR. He treated it like it was the end of his world. Shit!
During last week, I was able to get a whole lot of Spring cleaning done too. I divided the house up into days. The bedroom and bathroom on Monday. Tuesday was the TV/ computer room, etc, etc... I was so glad to get everything done by the end of the week and that included the laundry before Friday. I paid for it this past weekend with my usual back pain, but it was damned well worth it. Which reminds me, I need to call my doctor to get a prescription renewal. I am totally out of my pain meds.

More Answers to Your Questions
Madam Cheezy April asked, Are you a fan of music? If so, who do you like/dislike?
I think I answered that question a while back, but I don't mind answering it again. I am a great fan of music. I love Rock from the 70's and 80's mostly. Pink Floyd and Rolling Stones are my favorite bands. I'm not a big fan of rap music, but I will tolerate it if necessary. I really dislike Justin Beiber and Kanye West.
Birdie asked, Were you married before you married David?
Yes, I was married to my college studies and work. Really, I was immersed in my work at the lab. I had no inkling of ever getting married because of my mom. She was never a happy woman in her marriage to my dad. So I never married before I met David. He was married for I think it was maybe 19 years and then he divorced his then wife because he couldn't take her verbal abuse anymore. He actually told his best friend/fishing buddy that he would never marry again because of her. When he met me, he changed his mind.
