I'm Still Here

Yes, I'm still here. I've been very busy playing new momma to another puppy. Meet Xander, the X is pronounced as a Z. Here's his mug shot from the Animal Shelter here in town. We adopted him two weeks ago. He was so happy to leave the shelter and he took to us really well.

Xander's mug shot

Poor baby looks scared. I guess he never thought he'd get picked up and put in jail. From far away he looks like a German Shepherd puppy but he's really a Dachshund/Chihuahua mix. He looks like a Doxy close-up because of his long body and long snout but his legs are a touch longer than a Doxy. He's about a year old and just so sweet. He gets along with Frankie very well. He's house trained and very loving.  So now we have two little shits to make our lives more fun.

Anyways, I have been having my hands full with these two little guys. They love to cause trouble with the neighborhood cats. The cats sit across the street and the boys bark their heads off while in the house telling the cats what for and then some. They know they are protected by the glass door but let them out, and they are quiet. I think it's because they know the cats will shred their little boney asses in a second if they let out a peep.
Crackhead recharging after ODing on playtime

When they are in the house they mostly play in the living room and they play hard. When they get to playtime overload they recharge for an hour by taking a siesta at 10 am and then again at 3 pm every day on the dot. They just drop and fall asleep for an hour.
David noticed this for the first time yesterday. He thought they were outside all this time when it was quiet in the house. He's always in the TV room looking up stuff on his laptop so he never sees the shit that goes down with these two.
Well, it's a little after midnight so I'm going to try to get some sleep before I turn into a pumpkin. Yeah right.

Rescued fur babies are the best! And good to know the house is protected from the neighborhood cats!

Xander is adorable, as is Frankie! And those little chickenshits -- only brave enough to take on the neighbourhood cats when they're safely in the house, LOL! Glad they're filling your life with so much fun and mayhem!
