On the first sign, the "free meal" option should have been for bringing your pet. It would account for the "meow" in "Meow Mein" too.I think the countdown may be off. 35 days is just the end of September -- Halloween would be another month away.
I guess I should explain the reason why it's off. For me, Halloween starts October 1st. So, it's on track. I also have all of September as Halloween eve.
