To Random Troll : Either way, it is pronounced "chan-kla(s)" for flip flops but the spelling is chancla(s). Nick is probably wrong on the spelling. I've lived in the southwest near the border of Mexico for over 40 years and chancla is the true spelling.

I'm not Hispanic and I loved it!! My Hispanic relatives didn't really laugh so much as nod in agreement with consequences!!
