Stuff n' Thangs

Well, poor Houston won the hurricane lottery again. They can never catch a break. Where I'm at, just a fart odor east of San Antonio, we'll be lucky if we get a raindrop out of all this crap. Two good takes on this is that we are safe here at home and the car and his truck are fully gassed up. Probably the most gas that these two vehicles have had in their tanks since before we retired. We thought that Beryl would hit category 3 or 4 before it hit Texas but it never even got close. Pretty much stayed a weak tropical storm which is nothing here in Texas.

David unpacked my car and his truck with our Bug Out Bags, pet bags, their food, and blankets last night. I'm glad we won't have to make the trip to Austin but it would have been nice to see the kids. After all, it's only been three weeks since they got home from Africa and we had dinner out with them and looked over pictures and heard such wonderful stories. Sometimes I wish we lived closer but in a way, they need their space.

We had a front come through here on Saturday morning and I never felt it. The pain meds that I'm on are aces. We did have rain that moved in from the north (not from Beryl) around 5pm last evening and it went on for almost 8 hours. We had a total of 3.8 inches of rain. I'll take it. Every bit of rain we get fills the rain barrels so we don't have to use city water to water the flowers and herbs. It has been much too hot to grow tomatoes, peppers, or cucumbers this year.

I just got back from PT and feel amazing. I am still having pain but it's not as severe as it was 2 weeks ago. If your wondering, David drives me to and from everywhere because of the pain in my back and legs makes it impossible for me to drive. I never take my painkillers when I have to go for PT. They want to know how much pain I'm in when I'm in traction to see if it's working. Right now I have no idea. I would love to say it is doing what the doctor wants but we will see. I go for an MRI on the 26th and then an appointment on the 30th to see what the doctor says. Until then I have to be a good girl and no lifting or bending over to pick things up. That also means no gardening.

I have a treat for y'all tomorrow on Tacky Tuesday so check out this blog tomorrow morning when y'all get a chance.

Glad to hear you and David are safe and don't need to evacuate! Also good news about your more effective pain meds. Let's hope the PT makes a big difference too.

"Tacky Tuesday"? I'll be here with bells on, you bet!
