It's Monday, Answers To Your Questions

 It's been raining off and on all weekend. I have to say we have a chance of thunderstorms here for the rest of the week. OY!!! I don't know if my back can take this punishment any longer. I'm just glad we are getting the moisture. We were drought stricken for years and now it's just wonderful to have all this rain.

A few weeks back, Debra asked me a question and I didn't see it. So today I will answer your questions dear.
Where the hell is Seguin in Texas? Is it a big place or a small town? Where did it get its name because it looks French to me. 

Well, first off, Seguin is pronounced Sih-geen. Seguin is a small town and the county seat for Guadalupe County Texas. The population is roughly 27,000. We are located about 36 miles East of San Antonio. About 162 miles West of Houston, and 52 miles South of Austin, the Capital of Texas. 

Seguin is one of the oldest towns here in Texas. It was established by the Texas Rangers in 1838 and originally called Walnut Springs. Later changed to Seguin in honour of Col. Juan Seguin who is of Hispanic heritage, after the Texas Revolution. He was instrumental in the fight for Texas Independence at the battle of The Alamo. Since he was Mexican, William Travis sent him out of the Alamo as a courier going for reinforcements. Upon reaching Gonzales Texas, he formed a battalion of Hispanic fighters that fought in the battle of San Jacinto with Sam Houston. Juan Seguin died in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico where he retired. His remains were returned to Texas in 1974 and he was buried in Seguin Texas.

Seguin is known for the Home of the "World's Largest Pecan". Pecan trees are all over the place here. We are also known for "The Biggest Small Town 4th of July Parade in Texas". Debra also asked: Would you rather be rich or famous?

I would rather be rich because then I could hide out and not worry about crowds of fans trying to get a piece of me. If you're rich you can go anywhere and enjoy life. It has its perks. 
Being famous is hard because everywhere you would go someone would be bothering me for my autograph or a picture. I couldn't live like that, always being stalked or watched by weirdos.  

Answer To Friday's Question

It's been raining for two days and nights now. I told David he needs to hurry and finish that ark before the flood starts. Then there is that nasty time change crap. Why the fuck do we need a time change anyhow? Other than that I have spent that whole morning in bed on the heating pad. Arthritic back pain is the worst.

Mkay, let's get to the answer to last Fridays question. Debra asked,

Why are you a dog person instead of a cat person?

Well Debra, I have had birds, hamsters, cats and dogs throughout my life so far and I tend to like dogs the best. I have come across different personalities in both dogs and cats. I just like dogs more because they are not indifferent to their owner like cats are. Cats don't give a shit about you. They just want you to feed them. The cats that I have had tore up my furniture and drapes. I don't really hate cats, I tolerate them and their behavior or habits.

Dogs want to play and run and have fun with you. They also have a certain unconditional love for their owner, which is quite sad because so many animals are abused at the hands of the very people they love. I also love dogs more because they can be trained to help you, such as service and/or police dogs, and they can also be trained to behave in your home without tearing things up. Dogs let you know when someone is at the front door before that person knocks and they will let you know of an intruder. I feel safer with a dog when David is gone on a fishing trip.

Answers to Friday's Questions

Baby it's cold outside! The  weather isn't as bad as I thought it would be, but it is damned cold out there. I love cold and dreary, but my body hates it. I won't let the pain get me down though. So now, let's get to the answers for your questions.

The first one is from Debra,

Where did you live in Hawaii? Was it on the base in Oahu?

No, we didn't live on the base (Schofield). We, my mom, sister, and three brothers, lived with my grandparents in Wahiawa which was very near Schofield. We only stayed with them for a while then we moved to the northwest side of the island to Makaha. This was in the early 60's so the island wasn't that commercialized at the time. There wasn't the scenery blocking highrise hotels everywhere. It was still a nice place to have kids running around barefoot and alone to school through pineapple fields. It was still an innocent wonderful time. 

Living in Makaha was fun because we lived across the highway, which was a 2 lane black top that was rarely traveled, from Makaha beach. We would hurry though our homework and then run across the highway to the beach to play until mom called us for dinner. I was 9 yr's old and the oldest.

If you Goole Map Makaha beach, we lived where the Maunalahilahi Botanical Garden is now, and the highway is now 4 lanes. Makaha has built itself up from just a little place it was when we lived there.

The second question is from Birdie,

Do you have kids?

Sadly, no. David and I thought hard about it after we got married and decided it was something we didn't think was really necessary for our happiness as a couple.  He already has a daughter in her 30's from a previous marriage, living and married in Austin. We didn't want to have children so late in our lives. Some people might think we are selfish, but we were thinking of the child having elderly parents before he/she graduates high school.  

As for Pickleope, I will not even repeat that question. Like EWWWWWWW DUDE!!!  I do not, and will never perform lewd, crude, or rude actions. You are one sick puppy. Just plain EWWWW!
