This and That

This first week of the new year has been quite busy for me. I have been cleaning up a storm trying to get things in order. Wednesday was the reason for all the cleaning and washing. I performed a smudge blessing for my home for the new year to drive off evil from last year. I know, I know. I should have done it Sunday morning at sunrise but I was so fucking busy, there was no time. But I did do it, finally.
Since yesterday morning we've been going through a hard freeze for 2 days. I'm happy about it because all the bugs are dying but the bad thing is that I'm hurting from all this cold. I spent the whole day yesterday in bed trying to stay warm. I feel like going back and hiding under the covers right now until this cold spell is over with. That won't be until tomorrow. Which is fine with me. I have nothing to do until Monday morning anyway.

Tuesday-Monday's Ugly Sister

David is back at work this morning and I'm lonely. I miss having him home today. Like I said yesterday, it has been a nice 11 days having him with me. He never once watched trash TV. We went out and did things instead of staying inside. It was a really nice time together.
So, I'm doing 4 loads of laundry this morning, ugh. I have linens to wash and vacuuming and mopping to do but instead, I'm here typing this out. I should be shot. I do have one load of laundry going and I did mop and dust already. So that's done. Oh, and I rousted the puppies out of bed and outside so I could clean. The weather is going to turn cold again by Thursday so they will be staying out all day. The lazy bugs. Here I am making excuses by writing this shit.

Oh have all y'all seen this funny scary Turbo Tax commercial with Kathy Bates? Well, you will now. I'll leave y'all with this. I have a house that desperately needs to be cleaned and laundry to be washed.

Come to the Strange Side. . . We Have Booze and Cake

Yesterday was so surreal. So fucking strange that I felt I had to go back to bed but I didn't. I read blogs all day long and commented where I needed. If I didn't do it then Happy New Year everybody. I was reading the news this morning, ugh! It's like, when is all this shit going to stop. Then there was the mishap with Mariah Carey at the New Years Rockin Eve. AAHahahahahaaaa! That woman is washed up. She needs to just go away, far, far away.

Anywho, I think the dogs celebrated Saturday night because yesterday they were really, really quiet. I think they partied with the cats across the street. I really do. Hell yes!! They slept most of the day and Spunky kept walking around the house like a drunk with his blanket slightly wrapped around his old self. It was so weird watching all this unfold around me as I spent the day on the couch reading on my laptop. The dogs just walked slow and careful around the house like they were nursing hangovers. Strange shit, y'all. Strange shit.

David goes back to work tomorrow, the 3rd. It was kind of nice having him around this past week. I didn't feel like a prisoner for once. He let me sleep late Wednesday when I was fighting my insomnia last week. We spent some time with his daughter (my beautiful step-daughter) up in Austin and then had a quiet few days before the new year rang in. We went to bed early and woke up early as usual. It was nice.

Dear Diary - hAAPpY neEW yEARs

Jan 1, 2017

David woke me up at an ungoddessly hour this morning. It was 5a.m. Both my eyes were in the same socket. I refused to get up. He came back into the bedroom with Lucy. Lucy refused to touch her mommy, good dog. I finally got out of bed, 5:22, took a shower brushed my teeth and got the dead mouse out of my mouth.
Dragged my clothes onto my body, slipped into my shoes and put on my windbreaker. Shuffled into the TV room, drank my morning pill load and told David let's go. He said that he changed his mind and didn't want to go out for breakfast. So I grabbed him by the front of his t-shirt and said, "FUCK you! We're going! I didn't get all dolled up for nothing!"
He laughed and we started for the kitchen door. I started laughing. Spunky, our oldest male dog was drinking water from the water dish with a blanket draped over him. It made him look like a drunk, hung over. He nonchalantly walked back to the easy chair he had been sleeping in, with the blanket still on him like it was nothing.

I crawled into a booth at IHop and asked the waitress for coffee that was strong enough to crawl out of the cup, slap my face and make me it's bitch for the day and hotcakes. David had his usual everything. I barely made a dent in the hotcakes. I really wasn't hungry.

Okay, this is the thing. We didn't celebrate New Year's eve last night. We actually went to bed early at 8 because we were tired. Lucy stayed with us all night because she's afraid of the firecrackers popping. She didn't bother us at all. I slept through the whole night like a baby. But I feel like I partied hardy all night long. So, I'm asking .. WHOEVER THE FUCK STOLE MY SOUL LAST NIGHT, PLEASE RETURN IT TO ME SAFE AND SOUND.
