The Storm Hit

David always gets up in the morning at 3:30. Why? I have no clue. He goes into the media room to check the emails and weather, watches some TV and the walks the treadmill for one hour. He then showers shaves and goes to work at 6:30.

Yesterday I asked David to bring in my bougainvilleas and other plants and the chairs from the front porch. He said that the storm wasn't going to hit until around 9am. I said humor me. I'm a witch, I know these things. So he brought them all in and made fun of me as he did. Grumbling about my being a witch and because "I know so." (whiny voice)

This morning a roaring tiger of a storm of high winds and cold rain came through about 3:30 just as he got up. He looked at me and said, "Don't you dare say it." I didn't, even though I was smiling from ear to ear. I know he was glad he listened to me cause the temperature dropped from 67 to 35 in less than 5 minutes. The wind howled and rain poured but we didn't get any snow or freezing rain. We won't be getting that until Thursday or Friday night.

I'm going to curl up with a book and keep Little Hal on my FB page to see if anyone screams at me. I love this weather.

  1. I'm bracing for the big one this evening. Snow never scares me....but Ice, Ice is a whole other vegetable.

  2. Yeppers, ice is the killer. David is more worried about ice on Thursday night than the possibility of snow. Personally, I don't think we have too much to worry about with snow. It will melt before Friday morning. That's if we DO get snow.

  3. I'm stuck inside today. We have white out conditions and crazy drifts from the foot of snow that fell on us since last night. I also told the hubby that he wasn't going to be able to make it anywhere today....he didn't believe me. He's sitting on the couch watching movies now after attempting to go to work and getting stuck about a city block away from the house that took him an hour to get there. There's something so intensely satisfying about being right :)

  4. Good to hear you where able to "batten down the hatches" before that front came ripping through this morning. The wind here has been crazy all day. I did manage to get all the outside stuff taken care of today and now I am looking forward to a few days of couch time!!! WooHoo

  5. Will these men ever learn not to question our 6th sense?

  6. Good luck with your winter storm. Stay warm!

  7. Aaaaaaaaaaahahahaha... David, she TOLD you so!!!

Hoping you stay warm & dry, and glad to hear that your plants were safely indoors! Snow on me all you want, but please keep the ice. I'm growing steadily more thankful (than I already am...) that I live in the Pacific NW.

  8. I couldn't have resisted. "I've told you so" is one of my favorite sentences. ^^

    Stay warm!

  9. Yeesh! That's quite the temperature drop! Up here in Wisconsin we're snowed in today with a good 14 inches outside. And while it's not too cold, the busses have stopped and the city is pretty much paralized. It's like mother nature gave everyone a day off for Imbolc. :)
