MY MINIONS

It's a Little Touch And Go For Now

Yes, my sweet unknowing victims, I'm back to torture you for a few more weeks, maybe months, if I feel up to it. BWAAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAA! Really, I'm doing pretty good. In fact I'm feeling a bit better today considering the soreness I was experiencing yesterday. On a pain scale that I deem more accurate than the ones in the doctor's offices it was a 9. Today it's around a 3 which is liveable concerning the circumstances of chronic back pain. I'm usually a 5 or 6.
I'm guessing that I was #11 or beyond when I came out of knee surgery a year ago and the doctor forgot to put in orders for the PCA pump. I remember screaming for David to get me a gun so I could shoot myself. It was really that bad. I think I scared the nurses shitless that day.

Lucy, my nurse
Yesterday David hired this cute little nurse to take care of me while he was at work. Only problem with that was she talked with a foreign accent, which I just couldn't make sense of, and she fell asleep on the job too many times. She also had bad breath. I called David and told him the nurse he hired wasn't doing her job. He said she was under contract and there was a thing about her labor union and that we couldn't do anything about it. So I had to endure her snuggles and loves. At least she knew not to jump on the bed. She sensed I was hurting. Sweet little baby girl. She just loves her mama.

Monday is the solstice and I'm hoping to be able to get around without any pain. I made a pretty autumn wreath with orange and yellow mums and I have orange and some white candles set out. I'm making an apple spice cake Sunday morning and then David is taking me out to dinner. But it all depends on how I feel.
The Power Plant in Seguin
Two Sundays ago we went out for lunch at The Power Plant. They have great food and the view of the river is wonderful. There is an old turbine to the left when you enter. Indoor and outdoor dining. It's so cool! Only I couldn't enjoy it because I was in so much pain. I couldn't even sit or eat. I had no appetite at all. We had to cut short the lunch and get doggy bags. I asked David if we could go back this Sunday if I feel okay. He wants to go back too. We will see.

Falling asleep on the job is tolerable with lots of snuggles and love. Good dog. :-)

Glad you're feeling at least a little better. I like that pain scale a lot better than the one at the Doctor's office. Though what I really want is a scale where I can just give them the number that will keep me out of the hospital for the night, but still grant me a prescription for sweet sweet painkillers.

Wish we had the video of you calling for a gun. Your nurse looks like a real bitch - good help is so hard to find. I hope you get your meal out and are able to enjoy the Autumn Equinox.
