First off - I want to thank you all for the wonderful well wishes. Thank You all sooooo much!
Last week Friday I went to my appointment with my pain specialist for my back. I was really in a bad way by then when I walked into the waiting room. I had a problem with sitting, and when standing I was hunched over like a 90 year old woman.
Anywho, he said I didn't look good and he could tell I was in need of relief so he set me up at the Guadalupe Regional Medical Center - Outpatient Surgical Center. I am having Bilateral Lumbar Facet Joint Injections. So far only two injections are planned but we may plan for more later.
This procedure is going to take place tomorrow afternoon and it couldn't come any sooner for me. I wanted to wait for the confirmation with my insurance before saying anything here on my blog. You see the last time I had injections, the insurance hadn't okayed anything. But we didn't have to pay so we weren't worried. I was covered 100%. I just wanted to make sure everything was in the green for a Go tomorrow before we stepped foot in the Surgical Center.
So, after this takes place I will be laid up for a while with ice packs and heat treatments at home. I will be hurting from the injection sites and that should be it. Last time I had this done, The relief from the pain only lasted for a few days. I'm hoping for more time, maybe like a few months before the pain comes back.
Right now I'm sitting here typing this shit out for y'all and I feel a bit woozy from my pain meds. I only took 2 this morning when I got up. Strange, it's been a while that I could even sit this long to type this post for y'all. I'm so thankful for my friends and the well wishes from all of you. Thank you again everyone. I'm hoping to post again soon.

Will be thinking of you tomorrow -- may those injections bring you some longer term pain management! And then you can enjoy life again!
I am so happy for you! This is most excellent news. :-)
The best of luck to you with the Bilateral Lumbar Facet Joint Injections. See if they'll prescribe you medical marijuana. Regardless, I hope this brings you relief.
I'm ready this at the doctor's office. When I read that you will be getting shots that might take away some of the pain, I thought 'May those fucking drugs be strong and lasting!'
I noticed an lady and pretty much everyone at the surgeon's office was staring at me--maybe glaring. So I said, "A friend who has been in pain forever and a day might get some healing."
Every face changed. I even heard a few "Améns." I think pain helps people communicate in mysterious ways...
I hope this bring all kinds of good days. You are in my thoughts.
May they be the most efficient injections in the history of injections. Sending healing thoughts and wishes and lots and lots of love!
I hope all goes well and that you are in good health to celebrate Autumn and beyond.
