Ask Me Anything Friday

It's Ask Me Anything Friday. Yes! You can go ahead and ask me anything you like. BUT! You can only ask one question per person per Friday. So go ahead and ask me anything you want to know that has been nibbling on your brain for a long time now. Go Ahead. Ask Me Anything.

Answers to Friday's Questions

Baby it's cold outside! The  weather isn't as bad as I thought it would be, but it is damned cold out there. I love cold and dreary, but my body hates it. I won't let the pain get me down though. So now, let's get to the answers for your questions.

The first one is from Debra,

Where did you live in Hawaii? Was it on the base in Oahu?

No, we didn't live on the base (Schofield). We, my mom, sister, and three brothers, lived with my grandparents in Wahiawa which was very near Schofield. We only stayed with them for a while then we moved to the northwest side of the island to Makaha. This was in the early 60's so the island wasn't that commercialized at the time. There wasn't the scenery blocking highrise hotels everywhere. It was still a nice place to have kids running around barefoot and alone to school through pineapple fields. It was still an innocent wonderful time.

Living in Makaha was fun because we lived across the highway, which was a 2 lane black top that was rarely traveled, from Makaha beach. We would hurry though our homework and then run across the highway to the beach to play until mom called us for dinner. I was 9 yr's old and the oldest.

If you Goole Map Makaha beach, we lived where the Maunalahilahi Botanical Garden is now, and the highway is now 4 lanes. Makaha has built itself up from just a little place it was when we lived there.

The second question is from Birdie,

Do you have kids?

Sadly, no. David and I thought hard about it after we got married and decided it was something we didn't think was really necessary for our happiness as a couple.  He already has a daughter in her 30's from a previous marriage, living and married in Austin. We didn't want to have children so late in our lives. Some people might think we are selfish, but we were thinking of the child having elderly parents before he/she graduates high school.

As for Pickleope, I will not even repeat that question. Like EWWWWWWW DUDE!!!  I do not, and will never perform lewd, crude, or rude actions. You are one sick puppy. Just plain EWWWW!

Weather, Vikings, and Postings, Oh My!

Our cold spell is over for a bit here in Texas but not for too long. It's supposed to get cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey by Monday morning. Yes! In the 20's!! I know right?!? That's fairly fucking cold out here in south central Texas where it doesn't get this cold that often. It will last about two days, maybe three. Then I hope we can get into planting our tomatoes and other veggies. I also need to move the rest of the more sensitive flowering plants like my begonias and bougainvilleas outside when it heats up to the 80's.
Oh! Oh! Tonight is the start of Season 3 of VIKINGS!!! YES!  We are so hyped about it. Three years ago, I was recovering from knee surgery while watching the middle of Season 1 when I got David hooked on it. Now David  and I can't wait for the new season to start again. He has been watching all the sneak previews since they started, but I refused because I want to be surprised about what I watch. I did do some reading and found a lot of history on real Vikings that I hope the show will follow. Other than that it would be nice to see a History Channel show actually show something close to real history instead of those stupid reality shows. Whoever got the idea for dumbing down America with reality shows should be shot.
Here is a map I found of extensive Viking settlements and raids throughout Europe, Iceland, Greenland, and Canada, The dark maroon color represents where they lived during the 8th century, red is the 9th century, orange is the 10th century, yellow the 11th century, and green represents Viking raids or attacks they made but never lived in. Pretty cool, eh?

Anywho, on to other shit. I now have decided to make Friday the "Ask Me Anything" day. You can ask me whatever your heart desires, but, you can only ask one question per Friday, per person. I may or may not answer it if I deem the question too sensitive. I will be posting the answers to the questions on Mondays and if the post is too long, Tuesdays. Otherwise, Mondays and Thursdays are for posting whatever news I have to tell you that is going on in my life. Tuesdays will be "Tickle Me Tuesday". Wednesdays are the "Wet Dog, Cat or Wierd Animal Wednesday". Saturday is for "Silly Sign Saturday", and Sunday is "Funny Religious Shit". So, now you know what to look for on my blog in case you only come to my blog for that one day. But it's okay, I do this for my entertainment, psychotherapy, and to keep from getting arrested. David told me two weeks ago that he was not using the income tax refund as bail money anymore.

Long Post On Answers to Questions

Before I get to answering more of the questions from last week Friday, I thought I'd let y'all know that we dropped into the mid 30's this morning and I actually saw a snow flurry. Yes, just one!
It was amazing! I know! Right?!? I woke up this morning to a collective cheer from parents in the neighborhood when they heard the snowflake wasn't sticking and the schools were still open.

Okay, back to answering the questions from Friday. Debra asked a lot of questions and another was:

What kind of music is my favorite and who is my favorite singer or band.

My most favorite kind of music is Rock from the 70's and 80's. I think the best music came out from the time. My favorite band is Pink Floyd. They made music that played with your brain. In order to really enjoy PF's music, you must have a great set of Bose ( I am not promoting this product) headphones, not earbuds. Their music is timeless.

Birdie also asked a few questions.

How do you live with that right-wing stuff, and is it hard to find like-minded people.

Well, here in Texas we take the crazy right-wing with a grain of salt and we hope and pray that one day a Democrat will become governor SOON, REAL SOON! There is a buttload of like minded people that I know of, but we tend to keep to ourselves. People are "Crazy Christian" like here in my part of Texas so it's better not to say anything offensive. But if you're in Austin, the state capital, you are considered weird to begin with. Just check our past Texas Governors and Presidents. Actually Austin's motto is "Keep Austin Weird". Frankly, I think it's from the water in the aquifer up there. Who knows.

How did you meet your plaything/sexy beast/husband?

Oy!! That's a big question worthy of note. We met talked online three years before actually meeting each other. We were in a game room called Area 51, Ali Baba Slots on Pogo.com one Saturday evening. The Game room no longer exists because of fights that went on in the chat portion of the game, But before that a bunch of us made lasting deep friendships and a few marriages were broken up and begun in there.

David's online name was David1035 and mine was kitten926. He lived in Seguin (Sah-geen) and I lived in El Paso Texas at the time. I would come in before going on my night shift at the hospital and razz him about the San Antonio Spurs (pro basketball team) and he would razz me about the LA Lakers. It was fun at the time. We never talked about anything else. Most of the time, he would come in and watch the chat to see if  I was there. Most times, we would just chat about nothing in particular. This went on for almost three years.

One evening, while I was on vacation time off, a girlfriend from the "room", as we called Area 51, called me on my cell and said that I have to meet David. She told me that she was every so often having lunch on Sundays with him in Austin. And that all he ever talked about was,"Kitten said this, Kitten said that in chat the other day. He is forever talking about you." She told me that I have to meet him for real. Then she gave me his phone number and said call him.

So I did. we talked for days and weeks on end about anything. I was falling in love with his voice. Then one day I bought a video cam for my computer, you have to understand this was 2002. As soon as I got on video chat where he could see me, (he didn't have a vid cam) things got awkward. We were on the phone and he became quiet for a long time. Then he said he had to go run a few errands and do something. I was wondering if I scared him away. But less than thirty minutes later he called me on the phone and was on video chat with me. We could see each other and talk without having to type. It was cool at the time. (yes 2002) The stinker had gone to Walmart and bought a videocam so we could chat and see each other.

One Tuesday afternoon, right before I was going to work, he called me on my cell and asked when I had a day off. I told him I was off this weekend, then we talked about stuff like what was going on in the chat room with our friends. I thought nothing of it. Friday morning it was raining and he called and asked if I would meet him. I was all dumbfounded. He was getting on a flight to El Paso to come and see me in person. He said he was going to be at such and such hotel, which I won't name, and to meet him there and we could talk when I got off work.

Well, we met each other near the elevators, let's just say we didn't leave the room until Monday morning when he left for his flight home. He had proposed that Sunday night on that weekend and I said yes. He went back to Seguin but the following month he was back and we bought the wedding and engagement rings. Two months later in August he came back and kidnaped me with all my stuff and we drove back to Seguin together.

We were married by a judge (old fishing buddy) at his best friends (from school and old fishing buddy) house. David's daughter was there with her future husband. David and I have been married for 12 years since September 7th, 2002. We're both Libras, so we do almost everything together. We still go out on dinner dates, to the movies, and sometimes we get away for a weekend at the coast with the kids (puppies). I found out later while reading his online Area 51 profile, that he had changed it to "Married to the most wonderful, beautiful lady. Fishing got pushed to third."

Answers To Your Questions

I'm a bit late posting this morning because of the weather again. Yes, it's a bitch when it affects my joints. It's wet and getting cold again after almost two weeks of sunshine and warm days, but I'm not going to let it get me down. I have too much to do.

Last week Friday, I finally joined in with my friends and started a Q&A. I decided that on Fridays from now on I'm going to let my readers ask questions about me and put them in the comments section, then on Saturdays and/or Mondays I will answer the questions.

Since this started last week Friday, today I will answer three questions posted by Debra , two will be combined in one answer.
Have you ever lived anywhere other than Texas? If you could live anywhere other than Texas, where would it be?

To begin with my dad was in the Army, so that made me an Army Brat. We traveled a lot, something like every three or four years when my dad would get orders. I have lived in Paris France, Germany, Hawaii, Panama Canal Zone, Virginia, Maryland, to name a few. I loved traveling and seeing different places and I wouldn't trade that part of my life for anything.
As for living anywhere but Texas, it would be Seattle Washington. David and I have talked about moving there one day in the future. But for now we are happy here in Texas.

Black leather or lace?

I love lace, especially on corsets. I just love feminine lacy things and It's all so much sexier.

Ask Me, Go Ahead, Ask Me

I've been seeing this around for a long time and I've been afraid to try it. I guess I'm afraid someone will ask that one question that will be oh so embarrassing. Then I thought about it and I've decided why the hell not. If I think the question is inappropriate then I will call it out and say so, but otherwise I will answer most any question you ask.

So, if you have a question about me then shoot for the moon. Just don't hit it too hard.
