Shut Down

I just got hit with a doozy. Lupus is kicking my ass right now and the pain in my shoulders, back, and neck is unbelievable. My heating pad and meds aren't helping worth a shit. So I'm shutting down for a few days.

Always check your voting status daily on Vote.org and be safe. I'll try to get back on by Sunday if I can.

I don't know if my good vibes are helpful, but they belong to you now! I look forward to your healing and to your return! ✌🤞💪✊

Bummer! I have lupus, too, and was diagnosed in 1999. I seem to be in a flare and have absolutely zero energy which means not much gets done, even piecing quilt blocks which is a joy.

Wishing you well!

Hi Barbara Anne. It's so nice to have another Spoonie to talk too. I was diagnosed in 2016 after my knee surgeries. It seems that I was suffering for 40-odd years with it and there wasn't a good enough doctor out there that knew what I was suffering from. The doctor who diagnosed me was only in it for the money and was trying to force me into taking dangerous drugs. I stopped seeing him and now I just report to my family doctor who is better than that skunk was. At least he orders regular kidney and liver function tests every 3 months. He also talks to other doctors about treating my flares like the one I'm going through now. So far I've been lucky(knock wood). Today the pain in my wrists and shoulders is dissipating, but yeah, the fatigue is such a downer. I have no energy at all.

Glad to hear the pain is decreasing. I hope your energy will come back. Take all the time you need. The internet will still be here when you feel up to dealing with it again.

My best doctor was a rheumatologist and he was stellar but it's not so easy to find a rheumatologist in some areas.
Yep, love the Spoon Theory as it's an excellent way to help folks understand our (aggravating, annoying, frustrating, irritating, etc) limitations.
Take care.
