🤨 A few weeks ago, I lamented that El Paso is H.E.B.-deprived. Now, you're just piling on 'cause we ain't got Buc-ee's either!! Is it because we vote blue? 🤔🤣
Cleora, I used to think the same thing or that El Paso was part of California. It was crazy I've lived here in Seguin for 23 years now and it's like if you think about it, El Paso is on a separate electrical grid and everything there has a California/New Mexico vibe to it. I know it sounds strange but yeah, It's like y'all ain't part of Texas. I don't know why HEB and Buc-ee's won't build out there. My husband says it's because HEB would have to build warehouses and distribution centers and there are not enough towns close enough together to do it plus they would need a lot of people to work at those places. It's a matter of logistics and there is too much open desert area and not enough people. Kroger has the money to do that, HEB is a family owned store. David said before HEB would build a store here in Seguin or even New Braunfels, they had to build two distribution centers and warehouses. Many of the people who live out here in Seguin and New Braunfels work for HEB in the centers and warehouses. They pay well too. You won't believe this but Dallas finally got an HEB just this past year and they are building more up there.
