For River and those of you who have never been to a Buc-ee's or wonder what the hype is all about with these super giant gas stations, here are three YouTube videos that I found to help you.
For myself, I've been to the one in New Braunfels Texas and it's huge, yeah but no big deal. It's like walking into a regular Walmart filled to the rafters with junk food, clothing, and weird stuff with a cartoon beaver planted firmly dead center on it that you would never really buy on a normal shopping trip. It's not a big deal. I go to keep my husband from buying out the store. Things just seem to mysteriously fall into the basket that he pushes. Nope, not my doing either. Last trip he got a T-shirt with that stupid beaver on it. Ugly! But I hope this helps y'all to understand the weird obsession with Buc-ee's.

🤪 Yikes! We consumers are easy marks for this stuff! I'll stick with going a few miles up the road into New Mexico and get an Allsup's fried burrito! Some Allsup's locations are still the small, mostly-clean, gas/convenience stops in tiny towns. Even the larger, very clean versions are not trying to be more than they are. And the fried burritos are greasy and crispy and delicious! Uh oh, my stomach alarm just went off. Gotta go to Allsup's! 😋
"You can hold it" -- hahahahaha! There's a lot to be said for clean bathrooms on a road trip and tasty fresh food available from a convenience store. Those two factors alone would make me a loyal customer! Maybe some day we'll have Buck-ee's in Canada where, after all, the beaver is our national symbol!
Thank you. I am wondering if I check back in 10 or 15 years will the US be wall-to-wall Buc-ees? The clean bathrooms are great but the rest is a bit of a nightmare. We have much smaller gas station/convenience stores which is just fine with me. I don't drive, so don't need the gas part, but they are open on public holidays, so I can get a newspaper and some milk if I need to.
