MY MINIONS

Monday : It's Raining . . . No, Wait, It Stopped Again

It's been raining every morning since Friday. Friday was fun because it would rain for 20 or 30 minutes and then stop. Lucy hates when it rains. It scares her because she thinks it's going to thunder too. She sits on my feet and shakes. It's a strange shake. It's like when you have your cell phone on vibrate and when someone calls it vibrates violently all over the place. That's Lucy. The poor little girl sits on my feet or lays under a blanket next to my leg and vibrates like a phone. ZZzztt - ZZZTT - zzttt - zzttt. It's not a continuous vibration mind you, it's broken up like Morse code and each one lasts only 1 to 2 seconds. She refuses to be cuddled during any rain or thunder storm. So there is no comforting her. She will run away from me if I try to pick her up. I just have to let her go about her problem on her own.
Saturday, David and I went out and about to run errands and do some minor shopping around town and in New Braunfels. It was a treat for me because I really haven't been out of town in months. I took three of my pain pills because I knew my lower back would be a throbbing mass of raw exposed nerves if I didn't. Boy was I high. But, back to my shit. Lots and lots of buildings and homes are going up where it was all once farmland. I'm thinking either the farmer is too old to farm or died or had fallen on hard times so he or his family sold the land to developers. Homes and mini-malls are everywhere. It's shameful. It rained the whole time we were going to New Braunfels. We stopped at a nice little Tex-Mex restaurant that we love and then went walking at the mini-mall next door. It was a long walk and I didn't feel the pain of it all until after the pills wore off when we were on our way home. My lower back and left hip were throbbing with pain.
David had to help me out gently from the car and then I took a pain pill and a long hot, hot shower with the pulsing shower head letting the water beat hard on my lower back and then I slathered on some Tiger Butter creme and let it work while I laid in a nest of soft pillows in the living room and watched a couple of old DVD movies. I think I fell asleep sometime around 7pm and woke up at 6 in the morning on Sunday to a little dog vibrating under my right leg and rain falling. All I could think was deja-vu from Saturday. Didn't I live through this yesterday? I felt like death warmed over. I'm paying for the fun time from yesterday although Sunday was a bit better for me. I only took one pain pill and started laundry and made breakfast before David got up.

I think it was the coffee that got him because I hadn't made coffee since this past winter. Yeah, I only make coffee or tea when It's cold outside. But this morning I wanted coffee. After breakfast, David went outside and cleaned the yard of all the fallen branches from the pecan trees. Lots of them this year because we decided not to water the trees so much and let nature do the job. While he was getting the lawnmower gassed up I checked what was left of my courtyard plants. My lemon trees are going gangbusters. I need to cut them back in order to train them to be compact trees. My tuber roses have little baby leaf sprouts in their pots coming out I may have to repot them all before November comes. My morning glory bush is needing to be transplanted into an extra-large pot which will be its final home just like my lemon trees. The roses and pineapples are doing quite well. I promised the pineapples to a neighbor but she hasn't come by to get them yet.
I have 2 more loads of wash that I need to finish and a bit of vacuuming to do this morning and then I was thinking of finishing my last book for the summer reading list. I have 4 books for my autumn reading list yet to get started on.
Well, all this shit isn't going to start itself. All y'all have a magical day.

This Is Not A Dril

Happy, Happy Birthday Baby

Today is my birthday. Yeah, I'm really old. Almost as old as dirt. Color wasn't invented until after I was born. I think that's before fire was invented too. So yeah, there is that.
There were several things I was thankful for that I found out this morning. One was finding out that Greta Thunberg, the young Swedish climate activist, was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize a while back for this year. If she wins, which I do hope she does because it would kill the fat orange manbaby in the White House. Oh yes! Yes, it would. He wants to be nominated and win because President Obama won while he was in office. It would be interesting when he finds out if she wins because the temper tantrums would be unbelievable.
The second piece of news, the Whistleblower Complaint Hearing is going on right now and full coverage is on C-SPAN3. This is part of a possible impeachment of the fat orange manbaby. Oh, it will be awesome if it comes to fruition. If you haven't read the Whistleblower Complaint you can find it here. I read the 9-page complaint. There is a redaction on the last 2 pages but this complaint clearly shows there is a problem in the White House and it needs to be removed.
One of our window AC units died on Monday morning. It was the one in the bedroom. So David bought another to take its place and installed it Monday evening. I know for a fact that we bought that unit when I had my knee infection because I was stuck in bed for 2 months and David bought it and replaced it as I watched. It was also this exact month too. That was back in 2012. So the unit lasted exactly 7 years, which is really good for a small AC unit that on average lasts something like 4 to 5 years. It's a GE model and it's really a good AC that only works if the room temperature rises to 75F when we are in the room. The cost is really great too. We have the same make and model in 2 other windows in the house and they cool the rooms and house in record time.
I can't remember who it was and I'm too lazy today to go back to Tuesday's comment section and find out who said it but the question came up as "What is pumpkin spice used for besides pumpkin pies? Well, there are a few things that I use it for but no, not in a latte. I add it to my carrot cake recipes, sugar cookies, and add a little pinch of it to oil for my fragrance diffuser during the Thanksgiving/Yule season. I think putting pumpkin spice in tea or coffee is going too far and it tastes nasty. But that's my opinion.
Well, I have laundry, dusting, vacuuming and a kitchen to clean so all y'all have a magical day.

It's Pumpkin Spice Time

Yes, it's that time of the year when everything turns bright orange including your whatsawhozits because of Pumpkin Spice overload.
Debra over at She Who Seeks, has a great blog, by the way, posted a few Pumpkin Spice memes I was going to use but not to worry. I found four better ones.

I'm Back - It's Monday - DAYUM!!

Today is the first day of Autumn. Can I get an AMEN People? Yes, my favorite season. The season of the Witch, not the movie, has started. DAYUM!! Now if the weather would cooperate and give us some cooler temperatures.
Like PLEASE Mother Nature, can you see it in your heart to give us cooler weather in the mid 70's during the day and 60's at night? I know you are going through some tough times with the change and all but couldn't you just tweak it a bit?
On to other shit. Over the weekend I made another cheesecake with my recipe. It was velvety smooth and oh sooooo good. But before I go on, let me tell all y'all why I made this cheesecake. Two weekends ago on a Saturday, I made a cheesecake but I goofed it. On purpose. I changed the baking temperature. Yes, instead of baking for an hour at 200 F I turned up the heat to 300 F and guess what. The cheesecake came out of the oven with a semi browned top and sides. It was tough, not soft in the center. I really fucked up. It was awful. So, David said I should make another one just to prove if you stick with the recipe and directions it will come out the same as the first time. And it did. It was awesome. David was so happy that this one was proving that he was right. So what! I goofed and thought I would fool with the baking temperature a little. Yes, okay, it did prove fruitful and I learned something about my recipe. So I don't need to fiddle with it ever again. The recipe is perfect and it goes in my recipe book to keep.
Over the last week and a half, I did nothing but relax and binge watch on Netflix. I did repot a couple of plants that I forgot to do the last time I potted my houseplants. But basically, I was a lazy housewife. Oh, I did cook, clean and do laundry when it called for it but I just goofed off and watched TV or read a book. I might be doing this again sometime but I got too bored before my two weeks were up. So yeah, I'm back until I need the downtime again.

I'm Sneaking Back In

Low and behold, I'm back. Yes, I'm a bit on the tired side but I'm here to make your lives miserable and you better love it, dambit! I don't do this for my health. OMG! I sounded like my mother there. Anywho. I trust all y'all had a nice quiet vacation from me. I had some shit I had to take care of and I needed to get it done quietly. So I will be back officially on Sunday to post my usual anti-christ shit. So stay tuned.

Time Out

I'm going to take a couple of weeks off. That will include not being on the internet. I'll be back hopefully in two weeks time.

I'm am Energy or Should That be Electric

I must have some sort of electrical field build up inside me. I used to work for GTE back in the 70's. I did repair work for the company repairing mistakes, broken wires and such. It was mainly communications equipment for AT&T and the government before the big phone electronics breakup back then. Anywho, I had to wear a grounding band all the time or I would kill stuff with the heavy current running through me. I can't even wear a battery-powered watch unless it's wrapped in a velcro cloth band and the watch outer body is completely plastic.  Well, this morning I just killed the vacuum cleaner. I turned it on and it went, POOF, just like that. It happened when I touched the on button. There was a bit of a cloud of smoke and I got a bit of a buzz because I was touching a part of the metal that supports the upright. It was a nice buzz too. Jolted through my arm but good. Well, the thing is on the back porch for David to see. I may have to go around the house wearing a grounding bracelet for a while. Maybe I should ask the Goddess to clear the field and take the excess energy. Yeah, give her a good buzz.
On a brighter note, Saturday is our 17 wedding anniversary. We won't be doing anything or going anyplace because well, possible gun owners. But otherwise, I will be pondering about what the fuck happened to me?  Just last week we were standing in front of one of David's fishing buddies and judge friend and next thing you know it's 17 fucking years later. What the fuck happened? How is that possible? Where did the time go? Is this what married life is like? You get married and become brain dead. Seriously! WTF!?!

It's Monday

Over the past weekend, actually starting Thursday, I was binge-watching Ozark on Netflix. David got me stuck on it. It's quite good but oh so predictable. One thing, lots of nudity and high body counts on each episode of Ozark. Season 3 will be coming out next year. Can't wait. Check it out if you have Netflix.
Next thing I'm watching is Peaky Blinders. It looks good also. I'll be starting that today. I really don't want to explain either one of these shows. Just google them or check them out for yourself.
Sunday I was washing clothes and the washer decided to quit on me. I tried to just cancel the wash cycles but no go. So I unplugged the bitch. After 10 minutes I plugged it back in and still no go. So I unplugged it again and left it that way for an hour. I plugged it back in and no go. So, I walked away and went to tell David we would have to get the repair guy out to fix the washer. He went into the laundry room and all of a sudden I heard the washer going. I asked him about what he did and he said that he just pressed the ON button. Okay, this has happened before. Really. He just walks in when the washer refuses to work and presses the same button for the exact same amount of time and it works for him. I told him he can't die before me because he is the only one who can coax the washer into working. I mean it. The man has magic running in him when he touches things in this house. Either that or the electrical gremlins hate me.
Lucy sleeping on the sofa. Yes, that is the divas' pillow.
Lucy has been a diva all weekend. Sleeping on the sofa under her pink camo blanket and all. She's sooooo spoiled. Oh, and when we go outside she wants me to go with her because I've been watching for poisonous snakes in the yard lately. I killed a coral snake on Thursday and she witnessed it. So now, Ms. Lucy wants me to be her bodyguard whenever she goes outside or she won't go past the porch stairs. Yeah, she wants me to hold her hand or something. I have to go out and stand guard for her every time or no tinkles.
