Update On Texas Flooding In The Hill Country, Kerr County, & My Area In Seguin Texas . . . .

TEXSAR and HEB has deployed to Kerrville to help with the recovery and search for flood victims. TEXSAR is a non-profit organization that provides search, rescue, and disaster management services to local, state, and federal agencies here in Texas. Fuck FEMA, TЯ☭mp, and Gov. ABBOTT. This was taped yesterday. TikTok is all over this. HEB sent a Disaster Relief Convoy to Kerrville and other areas hit hard by the flooding. You might wonder what good will a grocery store chain do for recovering disaster victims? A whole fucking hell of a lot more than the TEXAS government could possibly do. I love my HEB.❤️‍🔥

The rain fell on July 4th in Kerrville overnight up to 7 and a half inches in just a few hours. That same storm picked up steam and moved over San Antonio to Austin and dropped nearly 8 inches on Guadalupe County (my county and the city of Seguin the county seat) at around 9 am to 11:10 am Saturday morning. Yes! Almost 8 inches on Seguin in 2 hours.
We have an alert system that calls everyone on your house or cell phone to warn us all to prepare to leave for higher ground in the Seguin area and we also have a flood warning siren system. That siren system sounds every Saturday at noon to make sure it's in good working order.
We were warned ahead of time of this and set up and loaded our bug out bags along with water food and blankets and the same for the dogs in both the car and truck. David, my husband, and I were ready to leave for Austin if needed. We never left. The rain finally stopped but the flooding continued. It never reached us. We live about 120 yards from the Guadalupe River. There is a 30 foot drop down into the park next to the river from where we live. It would take the river to rise 50 feet above flood stage to get to us. We got lucky this time. The Sherriff's Dept. closed off the road and bridge going to the park and over the river because the water had reached the stop sign 3 streets down from us. The golf coarse, park, and wave pool below us were all under water. Note, the golf coarse is being remodeled and is all dirt no grass at this time and probably half of it went into the river.
It just started raining again (Sunday)but it's no where as bad as Saturday. Just a sprinkle. My heart goes out to those little girls who are still missing from that Kerrville camp ground. Rescue choppers and drones are finding a lot of people alive in trees in the river. Still, most of the girls have not been recovered, yet.

Glad you, David and the pups are safe! I feel bad for those who were not. What a tragedy about all those girls at camp.

I'm relieved to hear you were spared and I'm heartsick for the Victims who weren't. Over 34 Feet in a couple Hours is quick and my understanding was that the Kid's Camp didn't allow the Youngsters to have their Cellphones so I don't know if anyone got the Phone Alerts like they should have? I think a lot of the Cuts to Early Warning Systems has and will cause more of this kind of thing... it makes me angry... and Thankfully you have more than that awful Governor, this awful President and his Cabal, and FEMA to do what's necessary... to rely exclusively on them would mean to be totally fucked.

It’s finally being shown on our media. I get more information from the blogs I read than the mainstream media.
I’m very glad you see spared any damage and not having to evacuate
We are all still hoping that those poor little girls are found safe

ThanIk you for the update. I thought about you yesterday and hoped that you were safe. The little girls broke my heart.

It will be interesting to see the final analysis on whether Trump's cuts made a difference in the warning for Texas.

I'm glad you are OK! Now I'm wondering how my cousin there fared. I know they raised their house up 20 feet about 7-8 years ago, was that enough? They are right on the river. I guess I should see if I have her contact info yet - haven't heard from her since dad passed away in 2018...

😟 I'm really glad you and family are safe. We do not have HEB in El Paso, which I'm sure you know, even though many people have begged for that expansion. We are closer to the distribution centers of West Coast grocery stores and HEB would have to spend exorbitant amounts on the infrastructure to serve us so it ain't gonna happen. SADZ! 😬
