MY MINIONS

Tuesday - Houston

Through all this shit from this past weekend with Hurricane Harvey, we feel blessed. We still have our home. We didn't get flooded out or lose electricity or lose our roof or any of that crap. The good people of Houston, Port O'Connor, and Port Aransas were not as lucky. Many lost their homes, businesses and some, their lives.

The call went out on Saturday for anyone with a boat to please get to Houston to come help. Complete strangers from all over Texas and the rest of the USA who could drop what they were doing, came together to help those stranded and yet they can't do enough. Resources are stretched to the limit, and people from all over are helping. Food banks, churches, and community centers are providing food and shelter. I saw people lined up ahead of me while I was waiting to give blood. Call centers raised money. It's unbelievable.
Everyone is helping. Except for one person. Yeah, I'm calling out Joel Osteen. You with the multi-million dollar house. A megachurch head pastor that rakes in over $50 million a week has closed the doors of his church to those who need shelter and help. You will pay dearly for your discretions you charlatan. You're a greedy bastard and I'm calling Karma to come bite you in the ass for what you have done. Even if you open the doors of your church today it will be too little too late for you. What Karma will do to you will be the worse thing ever.
Okay, I feel better now. On a lighter note. Did anyone see the story of Otis the dog?  Otis lives in Sinton Texas, about  26 miles north east of Corpus Christi. Everybody in Sinton pretty much knows Otis because he wanders around town. Well, Otis is really famous now. World wide, I'd have to say. Seems the picture that was taken by Tiele Dockens, above, has gone viral all over. Otis was walking down the street with a five-pound bag of dog food when she snapped the picture and posted it onto her Facebook page. According to the story, Otis was on his way home and he brought his own provisions. But you have to read the story. It's so cute. It shows the resourceful resilience of Texans.

Well, I have to go clean the outside of the house of leaves and hang my petunia baskets. It's still a bit windy here in Seguin but it's a cool clean wind. Y'all behave, do some good and have a great magical day. Tomorrow is Wet Dog Wednesday.

Osteen said no one asked him to open the church. Mattress Mac just opened his mattress store. He did not wait to be asked. I saw the story of Otis, so funny.
